This hotel is totally charming, clean, and impeccable. The room could be more accurately described as a suite, having a large separate kitchen with a dining set, so In this price range, exceptional. I was comfortable, actually delighted, from the moment I stepped in. The room was big, the kitchen lacked nothing, the bed was totally comfortable and the air-conditioning well-maintained. The room was decorated and furnished with a distinctive mid-century styling, which was immediately appealing, if you notice things like that, which I do, and done so without a speck of pretentiousness. The pool and deck we’re must-haves. The owner was helpful, obviously proud of this property, friendly and likable. I could’ve spent more time with her if the chance had arisen. The housekeeper was equally warm and friendly. Finding the hotel and checking in were a breeze. There was parking off- street fully screened from the street.close to the room. A short walk of 7/10 of a mile down the road was Stater Bros. supermarket which is an excellent supermarket. Can’t say anything but good about this hotel. I would not hesitate for a moment to stay there again. Actually I would look forward to staying there again.

I just gave this a five star review on hotels.com and it deserves one of those stars. Can’t say enough. I didn’t want to leave.

Look no further, STAY HERE!

I booked our reservation at Harmony Motel several months before our trip to Joshua Tree. When driving by on our way to the park, I thought do I really want to stay here. The curbside appeal was not there. HOWEVER, when we checked in, we quickly realized the charm, nostalgia, experience was all out of view from the road. For a true desert experience with amenities-stay here. The hotel was built in the ‘50’s, (I believe) but our room was very clean and everything in working order. Sunrise over the desert was beautiful (from our patio). The room had a full kitchen. The desert garden and pool was welcome after a day in the park. Management was helpful and gracious. So forget the chain hotels, and stay at the Harmony Motel. It may inspire you to be creative, just like U2.

This hotel is a great alternative to the big chain hotels in town. It feels like you’re in the desert. The hot tub and pool are spotless, and I loved having a full kitchen.

What an outstanding experience!

I recently stayed at the Harmony Motel in late April 2026 while visiting Joshua Tree National Park, and the experience was truly outstanding. From the moment we arrived, Ash provided a warm welcome and a thorough introduction to the property, immediately setting the tone for a memorable stay.
During our visit, we enjoyed breathtaking views of both the full moon and a stunning desert sunrise. Our room was comfortable and clean, and the pool and hot tub offered the perfect spaces to relax and unwind after a day exploring the park.
As someone visiting from the Carolinas, I felt the Harmony Motel perfectly captures the charm, tranquility, and sense of wonder that define the American West. We genuinely could not have chosen a better place to stay near Joshua Tree.
I enthusiastically recommend the Harmony Motel to anyone visiting Twentynine Palms or the surrounding area. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Ash deserves special recognition as well. Her warmth, attentiveness, and care for the property made our stay exceptional from start to finish.
