Amangiri

Amangiri has been designed to blend into the landscape of Canyon Point in Southern Utah, with natural hues, materials and textures as a feature of the design. The structures are commanding and in proportion with the scale of the natural surroundings, yet provide an intimate setting from which to view and appreciate the landscape. Arrival to the resort is via a winding road that descends into the valley and leads to the central Pavilion. Built around the main swimming pool, the Pavilion embraces a dramatic stone escarpment. Within the Pavilion is the Living Room, Gallery, Library, Dining Room, Private Dining Room and Cellar. Two accommodation wings lead from the Pavilion into the desert: 16 suites are located within the North Wing and another 16 suites together with the Aman Spa are located within the South Wing. Outward views from the resort look over the untouched valley surrounded by lofty bluffs.

Amangiri Resort

An Exceptional Experience at Amangiri
We originally decided to stay at Amangiri for just one night so we could experience the resort for ourselves and then decide whether we wanted to extend our stay. After arriving, we were so impressed that we are happily staying through Sunday.
As an American Express Centurion member who travels extensively around the world and has had the privilege of staying at many of the finest five-star and seven-star hotels and resorts, I can honestly say that Amangiri is one of the most extraordinary properties we have ever experienced.
From the moment we arrived, everything has been exceptional. The breathtaking architecture and surroundings are truly spectacular, but what makes Amangiri stand apart is its people. The entire team—from the General Manager and senior management to every member of the staff—has been incredibly warm, professional, attentive, and genuinely committed to making our stay special.
The level of hospitality and personal attention has exceeded our expectations. Every interaction has been handled with such grace, kindness, and professionalism that we have felt truly welcomed and cared for throughout our stay.
After reading some of the negative reviews before coming, I honestly wondered whether we would have the same experience. Having now experienced Amangiri ourselves, I simply cannot understand how anyone could rate this resort anything less than five stars.
In my experience, luxury is not only about the property itself—it is about the people, the service, the attention to detail, and how you feel while you are there. Amangiri delivers all of that at an exceptional level.
We are extremely grateful that we decided to come and experience Amangiri for ourselves rather than make a judgment based on reviews. It has been a truly memorable stay, and we are very happy to be here through Sunday.
Congratulations to the entire Amangiri team. You have created something truly extraordinary, and your hospitality is every bit as remarkable as this incredible property.
Without hesitation, Amangiri deserves five stars from us. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Poor service , bad attitude, food it’s a sad try .

The location is by far the best thing about this property. Unfortunately, almost everything else was extremely disappointing, particularly considering the exceptionally high price and the level of luxury Aman claims to offer.
I genuinely feel cheated by this experience. We trusted the Aman brand to provide an exceptional product and an exceptional level of service, and that trust was a major factor in choosing this property. At more than USD 11,000 per night, this is one of the most expensive hotels in the world, yet it provided one of the most disappointing luxury hotel experiences we have ever had.
We understand luxury hospitality and the level of service that should accompany this price category. We have travelled extensively and stayed at Four Seasons properties around the world, Rosewood hotels and many other leading luxury resorts. We therefore have a very clear understanding of what genuine five-star service looks like. Unfortunately, what we experienced here was nowhere close to that standard.
The property appears seriously understaffed, and this affects almost every aspect of the guest experience. Even getting someone to answer the telephone at reception is a challenge. On numerous occasions, there was simply no answer. When I eventually reached the front desk regarding an issue, the attendant was rude and disrespectful and told me that they were “busy.” At more than USD 11,000 per night, guests should not have to repeatedly chase reception simply to receive basic hotel services.
Even turndown service became something we had to fight for. At a property of this supposed caliber, turndown should happen seamlessly and without the guest having to request it repeatedly. Housekeeping and general cleaning were also well below the standard we expected. Attention to detail was lacking, and the overall cleaning service simply did not reflect a hotel operating at the very top end of the luxury market.
Even the most basic hospitality gestures were missing. No one offered to assist us with our luggage. These details may sound small individually, but at this level of hospitality they are fundamental. When they are combined with unanswered calls, inadequate housekeeping, having to chase turndown service and an understaffed operation, they become evidence of a much broader service problem.
I do, however, want to recognize one person: Emilee, our breakfast waiter. She was the only member of staff we encountered whose service came close to the standard we expected. She was attentive, professional and genuinely service-oriented, and she deserves to be acknowledged.
The rooms are also surprisingly basic in certain respects. Bathrooms feature painted and cement finishes, while toiletries consist of basic-looking soap and shampoo without the presentation one would associate with this level of luxury. Again, when paying these rates, the overall refinement and attention to detail should be exceptional.
The food was another major disappointment. On several occasions it was so excessively salty that we could not eat it and had to send it back. Their proposed solution was to ask whether, next time, I would prefer my food without salt. I explained that I certainly want salt in my food—just within a normal and reasonable level, rather than in quantities that make a dish inedible.
The gym was equally underwhelming. The main gym is extremely basic for a resort positioning itself at this level. There was a second room, but much of the equipment was packed away rather than installed and available for guests to use. In practical terms, there was very little available. This is completely inconsistent with what one would reasonably expect from a property charging more than USD 11,000 per night.
Most concerning, however, was the spa. It is by far the worst spa facility I have encountered in a luxury hotel, and in my opinion there are genuine safety issues that management should address urgently.
The steam room had no visible emergency/safety button. The marble floor slopes toward the exit and becomes extremely slippery, creating what I consider a serious fall risk. A towel had been placed on the floor, apparently in an attempt to reduce the slipping, but this potentially creates another hazard because the towel can interfere with the door. If someone were to fall, become unwell or have difficulty opening the door, there appeared to be no alarm or obvious way to call for assistance. I also could not see clear exit signage on the doors.
These are not minor aesthetic complaints. Some of them are legitimate safety concerns, and at a property of this caliber they should simply not exist.
The setting itself is extraordinary, which makes the experience even more disappointing. Aman has an exceptional location here, but an extraordinary landscape cannot compensate for inadequate staffing, poorly trained service, inconsistent food, inadequate housekeeping, basic amenities, an underwhelming gym and, most importantly, questionable spa safety.
What is particularly difficult to accept is the enormous discrepancy between the reputation, the price and the actual product delivered. When a hotel charges more than USD 11,000 per night, it is not simply selling a room and a beautiful view. It is selling an expectation of exceptional hospitality, attention to detail, service, facilities and care. We trusted the Aman name to guarantee those standards. In our experience, Aman did not deliver that promise.
Unfortunately, this experience has changed our perception of the Aman brand as a whole. If this property represents one of the flagships and the highest expression of what Aman has to offer, we have no desire to discover the rest of the portfolio. We will not return to this property, and following this experience, we do not intend to stay with the Aman group again.
This was one of the most expensive hotel stays we have ever booked and, regrettably, one of the most disappointing. At this price point, guests should not be fighting for turndown service, repeatedly calling an unanswered reception desk, experiencing substandard cleaning or finding themselves without even an offer of assistance with their luggage. These are fundamentals of hospitality, not luxury extras.
My advice to prospective guests is simple: do not look only at the glowing reviews or assume that the Aman name and extraordinary price automatically guarantee an extraordinary experience. We made that assumption. Our experience was very different.

Luxury in the middle of nowhere

We came from Colorado for a belated 50th birthday celebration and we were not disappointed. Getting there can be a bit of a pain if you don’t charter a private jet (we had our flight into Page cancelled last minute) but it’s definitely worth the trek. The setting is absolutely magical and a place of your own. Nestled…more like chiseled, into the geology of Southern Utah is a place unlike no other. July isn’t the optimal time to come as it was butt sweat hot but the luxurious pool and well air conditioned accommodations made up for that.
Dining was amazing at every meal. We ate at both the main area as well as camp Sarika. Don’t miss the cast iron pancake!
We stayed in the orchard suite and couldn’t be happier. The outdoor fire pit made star gazing other worldly and a bath with the view of the sandstones was so relaxing
We did the slot canyon hike and horseshoe canyon experience which was great to see but definitely not worth the price tag.
We also did the Utah salt and clay treatment at the spa which was also incredible but the before and after experience could have been better.
Service was impeccable and also personable. Whether it was at the pool or at dinner, we felt like we made a connection with all those we came in contact with.
If you want to feel in the middle of nowhere while lapping in 3 Michelin Key luxury, just go ahead and book now

A Once-in-a-Lifetime Family Stay

Our family stay at Amangiri was truly unforgettable. We visited to celebrate our son’s graduation, and the experience exceeded every expectation.
The property is simply breathtaking — peaceful, elegant, and perfectly connected with the beauty of the desert landscape. The sunsets, stargazing, and overall serenity created memories our family will cherish forever.
What made the stay exceptional was the warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail from the entire team. Every experience felt thoughtful and seamless.
Amangiri is not just a hotel, it is a place that allows you to slow down, reconnect, and celebrate life’s special moments in the most beautiful setting imaginable. Highly recommended.
