Heart of Ella

A place that truly lives up to its name, it really takes your heart during the stay. This is a lovely family run hotel, and Vijay, the owner, is incredibly friendly and caring. He checks in daily, helps plan your itinerary, and even assists with booking transport like cars or tuktuks.
The hotel is set on a hill with a steep incline, walking down is fine if you enjoy it, but a tuktuk is recommended for the way back up.
The Super Deluxe room with an Ella Rock view is a great choice, especially with the balcony swing perfect for relaxing and enjoying the view.

Avoid This Hotel at All Costs Terrible Experience – Unsafe and Unprofessional

We had booked three nights at this hotel but left after only one because the conditions were unacceptable.
The room smelled bad, the bed linen was damp, almost wet, and it was impossible to feel comfortable there. The manager could clearly see that we were unhappy, so he offered us a “free upgrade” to another room. However, when we checked out the next day, he suddenly demanded an extra $40 for this so-called free upgrade. That is a very dishonest way to do business.
We had already paid our stay through Booking.com, but when we wanted to leave, the staff tried to demand even more money from us. While my mother was discussing the payment with the manager, my children and I went downstairs to pack the car. My daughter picked up her suitcase, and a member of the staff physically grabbed her. As her mother, I immediately told him not to touch my daughter. There is absolutely no excuse for putting your hands on someone else’s child.
To make the situation even more uncomfortable, the staff stood outside filming us as we packed the car and left.
This was one of the most unpleasant hotel experiences we have ever had. We felt uncomfortable, intimidated, and completely disrespected. I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone.

Stunning views

We only had one night here and wished we had more. Our room on the top floor was fabulous with a nice balcony with stunning views of the valley and waterfall. Breakfast was delicious and served in an open area with more amazing views. Staff were also very friendly and helpful. It’s a bit of a walk uphill from Ella, but only a couple of minutes in a tuk-tuk if needed. Highly recommended.

The right place!!

Structure in a very panoramic position.
Brand new room with spectacular views of Ella Rock and the falls. Out of the chaos of the town.
Arriving you can't imagine finding such a welcoming place.
Run by a family that every morning prepares excellent express breakfasts with fresh and quality local products.
Every morning juices, pancakes, fruit yogurt with excellent honey served on a rooftop terrace.
A great way to start the day.
The owner is present and cares that everything goes well.
Bravo!! You get to town in minutes with tuk tuk and within walking distance some great restaurants for dinner.
Super recommended

Splendid views and a perfect quiet nest

The hotel is in Kithalella, a 20 minute walk or a quick tuk-tuk ride away from the center of Ella. This makes it a perfect quiet heaven which is also close to the Ella’s rock trailhead.
The caretaker was terrific, super helpful with tuk-tuk arrangements and general advice and he wqs basically always around.
Absolutely loved the room with its modern feel, comfortable and gorgeous bed and the balcony with the best view of Ella’s rock and the Ella Gap. The breakfast room also has the same beautiful view. I really wish I stayed here longer.
