Outstanding
Outstanding from start to finish. Mr & Mrs kumar did everything possible to make our stay perfect. They went above & beyond. Nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast is a must if you stay at the riverside Fuji. Thank you for a wonderful stay ❤️

Dream holiday in Bentota
Our time in February 2026 at the Riverside Inn Fuji was simply unforgettable – a real gem on the banks of the Bentota River, far from mass tourism and yet wonderfully located. Kumar and Ushari's family-run home offers exactly what you want for a relaxing stay in Sri Lanka: Warmth, peace, comfort and an atmosphere to arrive and feel good.
This charming boutique hotel has just six rooms on three floors – each spacious, cosy and superbly appointed. From the rooms and the large terrace you can enjoy a fantastic view over the Bentota River to Aluthgama. The spacious rooms offer a tea kitchen, a spacious bathroom, plenty of outlets (also usable with European plugs) and plenty of space to relax. Everything is very clean and well maintained.
The infinity pool overlooking the wide river invites you to linger as well as the beautiful, lovingly landscaped garden. Here you can observe with a little attention numerous birds, geckos, warblers as well as various mammals and insects – nature lovers get their money’s worth. Especially beautiful: A boat trip through the mangroves can start directly from the hotel – an unforgettable experience!
Despite its tranquil location, the gorgeous Indian Ocean Cinnamon Beach is only about a mile away – ideal for a beach walk or a swim in the sea.
The host family is exceptionally warm, friendly and always helpful. Kumar and Ushari speak very good English and take care of their guests with a lot of commitment. Her co-worker Hassan also ensures the best service with great dedication. Breakfast – either traditional Sinhalese or European – is excellent. In the evenings, after timely registration, there is the possibility to dine in the house, either comfortably indoors or atmospherically outside on the terrace. Wishes are gladly taken into account, and small defects are remedied immediately after notification – here you really feel taken care of.
We also found the small selection of games and books in German and English particularly pleasant – perfect for relaxing hours.
This special house combines nature, comfort and family warmth in a unique way. For this extraordinary atmosphere we award with conviction 5 stars plus.
We would love to come back anytime and can warmly recommend the Riverside Inn Fuji!

A Perfect Stay
Had a wonderful stay at the Riverside Inn Fuji. Gorgeous poolside view overlooking the river and very peaceful surroundings. The rooms are exceptionally clean and equipped with all required facilities. The owners are hospitable and helpful, even arranging a boat ride for us on the river during sunset, which was lovely. Overall, highly recommend this hotel in Bentota.

Beautiful Fuji
The location was absolutely gorgeous and so peaceful, the grounds and hotel were kept spotless and the owners were lovely and so helpful. The swi.mi g pool was jacuzzi style and looked over the lake- gorgeous

Recommended!
The Fuji Inn is a beautiful place where to find some relax and cool down in the pool. It’s very clean, the breakfast is tasty and fresh and the owner particularly polite, kind and helpful with every kind of question or request the guest might have. We enjoyed the view on the river, went by foot and by tuktuk to the beach, had dinner in restaurants nearby and made a safari boat tour starting directly from the hotel. Definitely recommended!
