Perfect location close to bus and train station

Perfectly located just steps from the railway station and nearby bus stops—you can easily walk here straight after your train journey. The Sri Lankan food is top-notch, and the establishment is family-run with genuinely warm, kind hospitality.

Fabulous fun and such a bargain taught by a really lovely chef.

We stayed at Jade Green Rest Inn and ate at the restaurant. Whilst raving about the Aubergine curry I noticed they offered a cooking class as they had hosted a large group from the Netherlands that night.
We were taught 6 of the tastiest Sri Lankan dishes and then ate that night. It was a fantastic afternoon and a feast for dinner all for Lkr 4500. Fabulous value and fun.

Lovely Stay

I had a really nice stay at Jade Green Rest Inn. The bed was super comfy and I really like the thick warm blankets they provided. Fabulous mosquito net too! The shower was amazing! Lovely and hot and very powerful. The shared balcony at the front of the room was nice too. The hosts were really sweet and invited me to join them for a New Years Day meal which was really nice. Great central location in Ella too!

Beautiful room and great breakfasts!

Travelling around Sri Lanka, we’ve stayed in quite a few rooms of varying standards and this was by far the best, with truly lovely hosts. The very spacious room has a four poster bed with mosquito net, a sofa and a small desk, as well as ample room for luggage and hanging clothes.
The room was very well thought out, with several universal powerpoints where you need them and lots of lighting options, again with switches where you need them.
There are also two fans (although you probably won’t need them in Ella’s cooler climate) and a very generous shared terrace overlooking Ella’s Main Street - perfect for watching the world go by.
The bathroom is large and has a modern shower with hot (not just warm!) water.
The breakfasts were all amazing! As mentioned, we’ve stayed in a lot of different places recently, and the usual fruit platter and eggs etc has become very familiar, so it was a genuine treat to be presented with something completely different each time - a tortilla, french toast and a club sandwich - all with a Sri Lankan twist. It’s a real shame the restaurant hadn’t reopened when we visited, as I’m sure the food would have been delicious!
It’s impossible not to mention the hotel’s location - right in the centre of Ella. This has pros and cons - it is very convenient for everything, however can be a little noisy due to traffic and local nightlife - using earplugs will remedy this.
However, the positives far outweigh this negative, and the room is truly exceptional, especially for this price.

Secret right in the center

Not sure how this inn slips through the cracks as it is right in the center of Ella. Our balcony looked right onto the main road and we had easy access to everything. The owners are lovely and very attentive. Breakfast each morning kept us going until are least 1600. The breeze and fan kept the room cool and the plush mattress gave us a good night's rest. Definitely recommend!
