Experience authentic Sri Lanka

The Calm Palm is a special place, reminiscent of a retreat rather than a typical B&B in style. The rooms are clean in style with a great bed, firm and comfy, not slack, which has given with the sleep of my life:-) Quiet A/C plus fan against the heat - it should be noted that the weather in October was perfect despite rainy season, sunny, hot as in high season. No sign of the internet announced rain, we were in the sea and on the beach and would/will always come back off season! At Calm Palm there is a herbal steam pool with individually assembled herbal blends and - tadaaa - an incredibly good Ayurveda masseur who has catapulted me into absolute deep relaxation as a massage sceptic and control freak, thank you very much from my neck at this point! Breakfast and dinner are also recommended here. The guys in the kitchen send out fantastic curries in the desired degree of spiciness, there are very good pastries from our own production, great coffee and the fish coconut soup was to be put in! Last but not least, I want to bring Claudia, the owner, in front of the curtain. I have rarely experienced so much warmth, hospitality insider tips and personal commitment even as a frequent traveler. We actually got to know the country, people and traditions here, got an insight into various social projects supervised by Claudia, which was very interesting and heartwarming for us and made new friends. If you want to experience Sri Lanka not only as a package tourist in the fenced resort, this is the place to be. We will definitely be back and I am already looking forward to it. Thanks for everything!

"Our home away from home – perfect in every way!"

My boyfriend and I had an unforgettable time here. The Calm Palm Hotel is incredible – a warm, loving home away from home. Fantastic food, relaxing massages and a perfect haircut. A really nice guest house that immediately delighted us. We will definitely be back!

Home away from home

After a year we visited Calm Palm again, this time for 3 weeks. And what can I say, it's a home away from home.
All members of the staff have since become friends.
Chef Heshan conjures up the most delicious dishes every evening, whether local or with an Austrian touch. You have no need to go out to eat.
We had a room with air conditioning. The equipment is functional, only the shelves for clothes are few. We helped ourselves with flexible hanging shelves.
Breakfast is available whenever you want, even in the afternoon when the night got longer...
Conclusion: We are already planning the next visit

Amazing guest house with great hospitality

I had an amazing stay at The Calm Palm in Hikkaduwa and I can only recommend it to anyone looking for a mix of comfort, local charm, and outstanding hospitality. The hosts were super friendly and helped us plan trips, find good restaurants, and arrange affordable tuk-tuks. The rooms were modern, very clean, and felt like a high European standard.
Plus, the food was a very good mix of tasty Sri Lankan dishes and familiar European meals. What really stood out was the personal care and attention from the hosts - they made the stay extra special. If you're planning your trip to Sri Lanka, be sure to visit Hikkaduwa, and I recommend staying at TheCalmPalm.

One at home on holiday

Clean, spacious rooms, working, well-kept sanitary facilities, in the CalmPalm were achieved kitchen-technical wonders (my son ate VEGETABLES!!!), the employees are friendly and very at pains. Topple over and enjoy the beach once - anytime! For me very important: the beds: absolutely clean, the mattress pleasant and I could sleep well from the first night (which is very often not so!!!) The excursions were all perfectly organized with each other, special requests were met and this guesthouse gave me the feeling of having a home in the distance. Feel-good factor with family connection! The owner, Claudia Jahns, is ready for personal trip accompaniment and proudly presents her down-to-earth children's education project ALOKA. Again, we were greeted very personally and warmly and could learn a lot.
Gladly and anytime again - however, we made a mistake: the stay was far too short!
