A hidden treasure in nature so special The longer you stay you reep in the rewards supporting such an amazing cause

Greeted by friendly team a cup of tea & ginger biscuits never tasted so good
Exceptionally clean and tidy
So many places to sit and interesting books
I spent most of my time there
Loved the yoga and meditation free to use in your time both studios are large with props ie yoga mats blocks
Amazing breakfast so much fresh fruit served with a smile
Questions answered suggestions made always had time to talk and share both Michael & Krishan
Organised Tuc Tuc and any thing they could do
I was lucky enough to be there 3 nights I will be back
I have hesitation recommending Not forgetting this helps support the foundation

A true gem!

If you are looking for a true spiritual experience with amazing teachers in a breathtaking environment, then look no further. Sanatha Suwaya will provide you with a chance to recenter and ground yourself in a loving surroundings. Bhante is no ordinary monk … his humorous “tell it as it is” style is refreshing and connecting. And Michael’s attention to detail will leave you wanting for nothing. The food is amazing, and the accommodations beautiful. You will find yourself amidst nature in a jungle setting (monkeys included!) and yet you are just a short drive to downtown Kandy. Morning meditation in the meditation room, which looks out to the treed mountains, will leave you connected to self in a way that you cannot imagine. Truly a once in a lifetime experience (but we plan to go back!)

A Place of Paradise and Beauty

This was my first time to Sri Lanka, and it was a wonderful experience full of beauty and adventure. One of the main reasons for this, is the one week stay at Sanatha Suwaya. It combines nature and structure harmoniously throughout the entire building. It is surrounded by fruit trees, tropical plants, and each night you fall asleep to the sounds of nature. There is a meditation room overlooking mountains of clouds and mist and a view of a distant city. For further places to reflect or have a cup of hot tea, there is a reading nook, a grassy sitting area, or the top floor which is for yoga, exercising, or for just relaxing.
The staff was friendly and helpful, and the rooms were attractive with clean fresh linens and towels. I had a single room with an attached bathroom with mosquito netting for the evening and a fan to keep cool after a hot day in Kandy sight seeing. If I wanted alone time, I had my own private patio with chairs and a table. I looked forward to the home cooked, traditional Sri Lankan dishes each day; the cooks provide fresh food daily with a variety of delicious fruits, sometimes picked from the grounds.
If you are looking for a quiet and peaceful sanctuary away from the hustle of the close by Kandy, Sanatha Suwaya is the place to stay during your visit.

Relax and rejuvenate

If you're looking for peace, tranquility, a place to meditate and/or do yoga, look no further. This little gem is high in the hills, just outside of Kandy, so you are close to many things while also getting away to quiet your mind. The staff is experienced, helpful, accommodating...bliss.

Relaxing Stay

What a wonderful little gem of a place Sanatha Suwaya Meditation Centre is! Located high up in the hills, on the outskirts of Kandy, away from all the noise and madness, this is a beautiful, well-kept, very clean and peaceful place. The rooms are very well-equipped, hot water and probably the best Wi-Fi in all of Sri Lanka!! Michael, the owner, is super-helpful from getting veggie lunch, helping with travel itineraries and making the perfect boiled egg :-) The yoga and meditation space is beautiful. I highly recommend a stay here.
