Beautiful view, cozy room and friendly staff

Beautiful hotel with an incredible view! The room itself was beautiful and the balcony view was 1 of a kind! The breakfast was delicious and the host was very friendly. My only advice is the hotel is way up in the hills, so take a tuk-tuk or a vehicle up, as the walk can be a little tiring, especially in the heat. I would give this place a 9 out of 10.

Enjoy the breath taking view of Kandy with great Sri Lankan hospitality!

A wonderful place to stay in Kandy without the chaos of bustling city life at a very affordable cost. The staff were very friendly & helpful. Also you can enjoy the Sri Lankan breakfast here. Though it is quite far from Kandy city, but you can hire tuktuk to come here anytime. I like their hospitality very much.

As close to heaven as you will get in Kandy
Let me introduce you to a very attentive host Asitha of the SkyDeck in Kandy. If ever you have the opportunity to visit Kandy do yourself a favour and stay with Asitha at SkyDeck. From our arrival at 19h00 in our taxi we were welcomed by our smiling host. Without an issue he carried our suitcases up to our room and gave us a tour of the amenities.
Everything in the room was as it appeared on the Booking.com website, spotlessly clean with good linen. Then he took us out to the balcony with its comfy chairs and large table and the view. OMG! THE VIEW is to die for, high above Kandy, almost in the clouds and spread our beneath you is this myriad of twinkling lights. UNBELIEVABLE!!!
Whilst we were standing gob-smacked at the view Asitha was busy getting us a wine opener, ice and an Uber Eats menu. Dinner ordered with his recommendations and assistance we flopped into the balcony chairs to savour our Duty Free wine and soak up this amazing view.
Asitha’s guidance on what to see and where to go as our stay was but too short with only two nights was extremely helpful. Next time Kandy deserves at least a week.
On returning that evening Asitha kindly warmed up our leftover dinner from the previous night and served us on the balcony. He also assisted us in procuring a taxi for our trip to Unawatuna the next day with a friend at a very good rate.
Since our return to South Africa I often cast my mind back to SkyDeck with its panoramic views even from the shower and the warmth of the owners.
I cannot recommend it high enough – 10 out of 10
P.S. Asitha on a personal note thank you for going the extra mile for us.
P.P.S. Just an idea, perhaps a small bar fridge in the room would save you in the long run.

Great Stay - Amazing View & True Sri Lankan Hospitality

We had an amazing stay at SkyDeck.. AC, everything clean, hot water in a super modern shower/bathroom & quiet location just a very short tuktuk ride to the main attractions in the city.. The owner and his family are lovely people and they took very good care of us. The view is CRAZY! You won't see this view from many other places as it's perched right on top of a hill overlooking the whole city..

Highly recommend

I really enjoyed & highly recommend this family owned & run guesthouse. I had the room with the balcony, plus a window in the bathroom, that gave me superb views over Kandy. The room was clean had everything I needed & couldn’t be faulted. The manager, Asitha, was always welcoming, available & very helpful if there was anything I needed. The breakfasts were also great, Sri Lankan and very ample (you won’t go hungry). They also provide filtered water for guests so that was a big plus (making it a 6 out of 5 star rating for me) as it saves on plastic (as travellers we should all be mindful of this but sadly most are not).
There is a short cut to the main road to town, I walked in & out every day, takes about 30min, you won’t need a tuk tuk if you are happy to shed those extra calories, though the last bit back to SkyDeck is a bit of a short climb up (what goes down must go up). There is an eatery called The Vinci Caterers near the bottom of the short cut that I used, very local, with a simple menu, very affordable, & has as good a local food as anywhere I have eaten.
Definitely recommended for value, location & hospitality.
