Friendly place to stay outside the hustle

It's all about location, or actually not, depends what your looking for. Certainly a quiet spot far away from the hustle of Colombo. The family who runs the guesthouse is very friendly. Rooms have a nice decor touch and fans. Mosquito nets are missing though. It's literally a two minutes walk from the train station Mount Lavinia from where you can continue your journey south. For exploring Colombo you can take the frequent trains up and down. There are no food options directly around but on the big street you'll find super markets and restaurants.

Great place to stay and visit Mount Lavenia

Very silent environment and always Staff very polite and curtasy to the guest. Rooms are very reasonable price in budget rates in the City.Very closer to the Mount Lavinia beach and Mount Lavinia Royal Hotel.

Beware

Avoid at all costs it's down right dirty total misrepresentation they say shared communal kitchen not true it was advertised as 1.750 rupee per night we booked 5nights due to the good write up only stuck 1night was flat to get away was charged 2.000rupee for the night plus 100rupee for bottle water asked if they had a kettle I could use to make a cup of tea using my own water tea bags&suger both men (owner &worker)stood watching over us the whole time it has to be the creepiest seedy GH I have stayed in during 5yrs in Asia.

disappointing

situated close to the railway station and acess to the beach, also close enough to walk to some of the attractions.
very hard to find, not well signposted and no actual sign of the GH at the front.
not easy to identify the entry into the GH, and no actual reception.
took awhile to find someone to assist us to the rooms.
rooms were okay, mine was small, and bathroom dirty, bed comfortable and clean.
it was okay for the price, but a bit disorganized, we had to leave early in the morning and found ourselves locked in and took awhile to wake the owner to let us out, nothing flash but okay for the price.

Best stay and a Best price

We booked this online and found it very worth when we arrived. Being a local I can say, you cannot find a better room for this price range, specially in Mountlavinia. I saw people had said it is very noisy because the railway statuin is close. I must say we were not disturbed at all. Nothing made us disturbed. I like to say all the people you cant expect the price to be cheap and have all the luxury facilities. Highly recommend this place if you want a cheap price and a good stay.
