A warm welcome, a great place to stay!

I stayed here for 12 nights and really enjoyed being here! The room was great, the staff extremely friendly and kind and breakfast was really good… and much!
I will definitely come back again!!!

Ignore any expected facilities

Booked in for 2 nights viabookings.com, stayed 1 hour. Residence was dirty with a strong musty smell. The linen was grey.
As for the facilities advertised on bookings, forget it. No seating inside or out, no kettle, no available breakfast, no toilet paper, the list is endless.
Finally the location is one of fumes and load road noise all of the time.

I initially withdrew my original review after the management assured me that they were sincerely sorry for the inconvenience and committed to refunding the nights I was unable to stay. However, after five days of continued correspondence, it became apparent that this assurance was merely a delaying tactic intended to persuade me to remove my review and withdraw my complaint lodged with Booking.com. I have now been ignored so will be opening a new case with booking.com and submitting this review.
Upon contacting Booking.com, I was informed that they had sent the property six separate emails, none of which received any response. Furthermore, although I was initially offered a full refund, this offer was later reduced by $50, which the property claimed was a “fine/commission” payable by me. This reasoning is, in my view, wholly unreasonable and without precedent.
In addition, the accommodation provided was not as advertised. The facilities, condition, and overall standard fell significantly short of the description and images presented on the booking platform, which contributed to my decision to leave early. Everything smelt of mothballs, shower head hanging off the wall, toilet positioned that my knees where against the wall ( I am 5ft). The kettle in the room was burnt on the bottom inside and I had to ask them to change it. The fridge in the room was filthy and I had to clean it before storing anything inside it .I had to use my clothes to cover the pillows due to the smell. I paid for a room that came with breakfast, to be offered an omelette and toast everyday was not what I believed to be a satisfactory breakfast. If you want somewhere to rest your head for 1 night while transiting then maybe this would be ok, however please manage your expectations in regards to the description and pictures advertised on booking.com everything is incorrect.
I truly hoped that I wouldn't' have to write this or re raise my case with booking.com.

Simple and comfortable hotel for one night

The first thing: The opinions and photos of 2019 are misleading, they do not reflect reality at all.
This accommodation is quite simple, more like a boarding house than a hotel as such. The rooms are basic, with what you need to spend one or two nights: comfortable bed, air conditioning that works well, a small wardrobe with some hangers and a fairly modest bathroom, no space to place toiletries and with certain details that evidence lack of maintenance.
Cleanliness is acceptable. It does not have the usual services of a hotel, but has a small kitchen, located in what looks like a storage room. There is a fridge and a kettle, although both share the same plug, so if you use the kettle and don't reconnect the fridge, the drinks stay warm.
It is in a very active area with many bars and restaurants nearby and with quite a lot of traffic, which means constant noise during the night.
The most remarkable is the owner: always attentive and willing to help. Even so, the constraints of the place are present. It is an option that can only work for very short stays

Good for a first or last night to Sri Lanka

Not exactly a hotel. Owner lives upstairs. The rooms are fine, large and spacious, have air conditioning, water, wardrobe... the bathroom lacks some amenities, it is half outdoors, it is very humid and on our first night we find a weirdo in the bathroom, but it is normal, these half outside.... For a first or last night to Sri Lanka is fine, you are close to the airport and easy to get to.
