Heaven in the Highlands

Staying at Stafford Bungalow is pure joy. This review may sound over the top, but really Stafford is just that good! Every detail has been considered to craft an experience that won’t be forgotten. We stayed in the Owners cottage Garden view room. Divine! Spacious and comfortable, open the doors and walk through to your private garden. The staff are exceptional. In particular, Pram our butler could not have done more to make our stay perfect, he is a gem, you would be fortunate to experience his service. He arranged a tour of a local tea factory and a walk through a tea plantation with its manager, both of which were short notice and excellent. Finally the food simply amazing! This would have to be one of the best places we have stayed in and were disappointed to leave after 2 nights!

A relaxing top class hotel

This is an amazing hotel set in beautiful grounds in the highlands above Nuwara. We have stayed in several hotels during our visit to SriLanka, all were good but this is the best. The rooms, the service (Deva and Kalar were superb), but finally the food. What a delight - if you stay here you simply must have dinner.

A beautiful place for our honeymoon!

An ideal place to relax on a honeymoon with my husband!
The locations were beautiful with quality products, their flowering and well-maintained gardens, and the staff was very attentive to our comfort and efficient. With service worthy of a grand hotel.
We took a walking tour of the plantation with a guide who answered our many questions.
The pool and hot tub further enhanced the experience.
We would have loved to have the time to stay longer and would gladly return.

Absolutely lovely

A fantastic place to stay. Beautiful grounds and house, delicious food and outstanding service. Prem, the head butler, was thoughtful and accommodated our every need. The entire staff was wonderful. I highly recommend a stay of more than one night to truly enjoy this property.

A former planter’s bungalow set in a stunning landscape

This is a nine room hotel in a former tea planter’s bungalow, surrounded by beautiful gardens and a working tea estate in the gorgeous landscape of Sri Lanka’s uplands near Nurawa Eliza. We could not have been looked after with more care and consideration by Prem, our butler, and his colleagues. The food is excellent and there are worse things than gazing down into a stunning valley from the infinity pool. We highly recommend a stay.
