Hidden Gem Getaway with Stunning Views
We had an amazing time with three other families at this stunning, tucked-away property! The place was a gem—beautiful architecture, super well-kept, and full of charm. The food? Absolutely delicious, with the BBQ stealing the show. The pool might have been on the smaller side, but the view made it feel like a million bucks, and we had a blast splashing around. We had such a great experience that we can’t wait to go back for round two!

Dilapidated - the photos completely misrepresent the reality
Had booked to stay here on the strength of the photos only to find the place to be dilapidated and unhygienic with disgusting heavily stained mattresses and bedding ... the photos completely misrepresented the place and it was so bad we had to leave ... it was subsequently pulled from the Villa finder website.

Absolutely amazing stay in paradise
We had the most amazing peaceful and relaxing stay at Kadju house. The room was stunning with beautiful views and a open top shower which was a real treat. The staff were discreet but attentive. Then there was the food... what a treat.. we had stunning currys made for us every evening with our choice of curry and then 5 different vegetable currys to go with it. We couldnt have asked for me it was amazing. The pool is spectacular and the sunset views out of this world. We cant wait to go back again.

Fantastic Place
What a wonderful place. We booked Kadju House for a 5 day break and had a wonderful time. The staff were attentive but discrete and the cook is amazing easily accommodating of some of the groups specific dietary needs.
If you are looking for a relaxing holiday with fantastic views and staff then Kadju House is definitely worth a visit.

Barefoot luxury with amazing cuisine
We stayed at Kadju House with kids for 3+ weeks and everyone loved every second of our vacation.
Booking and Communication
Verena and Vikram were very responsive and helpful in all communication and we felt very welcome even before we arrived. Wonderful driver Lal waited for us upon arrival with a sign and we were driven from Colombo to Tangalle in perfect comfort in his airconditioned minibus.
Arrival
When we arrived at Kadju House, a bit tired after the flights, we were welcomed by the staff and taken around by Keerthi, who also served up a delicious lime juice and cold towels by the pool, which really lifted our spirits. The dogs greeted us with curiosity and the staff made us feel right at home.
The House
Kadju House is an award winning architectural pearl where the design integrates perfectly in the surrounding nature. Every item is sourced with care to add to the overall design appeal of the house. It is mentioned by Condé Nast as one of the 25 best beach houses in the world, and it is really wonderfully appointed.
The Garden
The garden was hit hard by the rains a couple of weeks before we came and the grass was demolished. But still it was nice and inviting with lush greeneries and blossoming frangipani trees, aloe vera, cinnamon trees, a huge cashew (from which the house got its name - Kadju is cashew in sinhalese), mango, pineapple, curry, tamarind, the giant jak fruit, lime and many others. There are also wild peacocks, iguanas, monitor lizards, monkeys, cool looking birds and other fauna that frequents the garden.
The Rooms
Kadju House has 5 double bedrooms, and although rather small (but who would want to stay in their room unless to sleep or rest???), they are very comfortable and clean. The AC could even make a Swedish Viking shiver at times, and showering under a frangipani tree is really nice! The upstairs room has a bath tub with a view to die for. The rooms are also really well designed and practical.
The Food
The food was truly spectacular! Every meal we had us going "mmmmm!!!" and "aaaaaahhhh!!!". Every morning we talked to Keerthi, Dipika and Chamara about what we wanted for lunch and dinner - Keerthi did the shopping an Dipika cooked the most perfect meals for us! We just loved her Sri Lankan curries, but she is also well versed in other cuisines. The vegetables, fruits, fish and shellfish was amazing! A tip is to take an early morning tour to the fishing harbour and pick up some tuna, squid, mahi-mahi or whatever looks good.
The Location
We found Tangalle to be the perfect location in Sri Lanka. Away from the rather depressing tourist areas and with close proxemity to everything one could wish for. There are tourists, but not so many and most come to the more upscale Anantara, Amanwella or one of the beach houses. The pristine, beautiful beaches were our own, there are just so many short and long excursions where one can experience nature, culture, people, surfing, whales, turtles, crafts, water sports, yoga, martial arts....
All in all, this was our best vacation ever.
