A dream resort
When researching our holiday I was quite specific about our requirements and it didn’t disappoint in any way!
I was looking for a resort that was quiet, particularly in the evenings, as I require lots of sleep☑️l wanted somewhere that offered an all inclusive plan food plan ☑️this one being al la carte, which surprisingly we found to be so much better than constant buffets! I also wanted lots to do for my sons, aged 17 and 22, lots of tours and activities you could book at the resort ☑️ I also wanted a quiet beach with good snorkelling straight off the shore ☑️
When we arrived, after our transfer from the airport, by comfortable air conditioned taxi, we had a wonderfully warm welcome and were guided to ours rooms WOW! I had the Piton Suite ( the only one with a pool) which was wonderful with the most amazing views of the Pitons, and my sons had the adjoining suite with an inter connecting door!
The accommodation was absolutely perfect,I was concerned before we arrived about the lack of air conditioning in the rooms but I really needn’t have been the ceiling fans and floor fans kept the bedrooms very cool! The rooms were spotless and the toiletries in the bathroom smelt absolutely amazing!
The staff were all, without exception, extremely friendly and super helpful, I cannot fault the service. The food was absolutely delicious, lots of fresh seafood, and vegetables and fruit from Emerald Plantation which is owned by the resort. The desserts were amazing , often using the chocolate they make themselves! We were entertained in the evening by some extremely professional performers with quite wonderful voices !
The quantity and quality of excursions and activities available from Anse Chastenet is wonderful! The staff that organised the excursions were absolutely great they just couldn’t do enough for us!
We did an excursion from the resort to visit the Volcanoe, and Botanical Gardens (included Diamond Falls and Suphur Springs), excellent tour guides and dip in the mineral springs!
We went on a Whale and Dolphin watching trip on a catamaran, direct from the resort, we were fortunate to see lots of tropical spotted dolphins and flying fish but unfortunately no whales, but they are much less common!
My oldest son did the Piton hike early one morning with a guide, organised by the resort, that he absolutely loved and took lots of photos so we could see the amazing views he had seen!
My sons also did an ATV tour, this was run by an external company, but Anse Chastenet organised everything including taxis to get them there and back! We also did chocolate tasting and rum tasting, and chocolate making in the chocolate lab at Jade Mountain ( their sister hotel) which was extremely interesting, fun and delicious!
We did book a helicopter tour of St Lucia but it had to be cancelled due to visibility issues, but managed to get a last minute airport transfer by helicopter when we left which was a magical experience, and well worth doing!
The beach was lovely and quiet, enough sunloungers for all the guests under grass umbrellas! There is a drink and food service available for much of the day, just put your flag in the sand and the waiting staff will take your order!
The snorkelling was exceptional so close to shore, you can borrow a mask, snorkel and flippers from the Dive Centre on the beach but we took our own, I have a prescription mask so I’m able to see!!
There are 3 snorkelling areas roped off for safety, we saw green and hawksbill turtles everyday, numerous beautiful fish, squid, sea cucumbers and even a ray! It is so rare to have this experience direct from the beach, nearly all other resorts you need to take a boat trip to a snorkel location so this is, I’m my opinion, one of the biggest highlights of Anse Chastenet!
There’s also the wonderful spa, my son had a head massage and full body massage that he found extremely relaxing!
We had a wonderful dinner on our last evening at Jade Mountain, it is a totally breathtaking and unique resort which you really need to see for yourself to appreciate the architecture!
I cannot recommend Anse Chastenet enough if you want a wonderfully quiet location, exceptional service, delicious food and a huge choice of experiences, and great snorkelling straight off the beach!

Amazing vacation truly five stars!
1. The drive from the airport: it takes about one hour heading north. You’re on a beautiful island. Enjoy the ride. Enjoy the view the scenery the winding roads the hills the turns it’s an adventure to get to the resort. When you get off the main road, it’s about a 1 1/2 miles uphill, non-paved, bumpy, adventurous unique road. You can see Soufrière. We found out later during our stay the reason that road is not paved going up to both hotels is that there’s also some private villas along the way and won’t pave as they don’t want a ton of traffic up there as all the beaches are public. That’s why the resort is not crowded nor with cruise ship people. They do have water taxis that drop people off at the smaller beach for lunch etc but the resort the entire stay never was crowded! Never had to fight for a chaise lounge. Also the beach staff excellent. They would come over and put a permanent towel on your chaise lounge and then give you a towel for when you came out of the ocean.
Junior is one of the staff members, and he is the gentleman of happiness. He will come by and provide for you a very cold cloth and spray you with a eucalyptus spray. The staff periodically throughout each day will come by with passionfruit water, a fruit skewer or homemade popsicles.
2. When you arrive, you are immediately greeted by the staff. They send you down to the concierge/bar area where you were greeted with a nonalcoholic drink, a cold towel and you are greeted by the general manager, Andrew Hedley. He is a presence on the property very cordial pleasant he would greet you when you arrive and he also says goodbye to you on your way out. And you see him around the property.
3. The check-in took about 15 minutes before we were brought by our van up to our room 14 A.Mahoe all the rooms are numbered and have names on them. We had booked with JetBlue vacations, the Hillside deluxe ocean view room. The room didnot disappoint. It had a beautiful king size bed with netting all around it, and at night went turned down service they close the netting fully and they a citronella coil to keep the bugs away because the room is open to the elements.
There are plenty of fans over the bed to the right and left of the bed but at night time it’s cool enough you do not need air-conditioning. The resort does offer beach houses that have air conditioning if you must have air-conditioning. We did not mind it at all.
We were greeted with water bottles in our refrigerator every day complementary. They gave us homemade banana bread/muffins and complementary little rum bottles with a honey lime, simple syrup. The bathroom was spacious with double sinks toiletries, a walk-in shower, plenty of towels. We had three closets ironing board a to put your luggage. They also had a spot for an extension cord bug spray which we never needed eye, masks, slippers, etc. the room didn’t lockfor anything. The key was this hanging swing in the corner of the room overlooking the ocean which we took advantage of absolutely beautiful view lavazza coffee, and tea were provided in the room so we use the banana muffins and coffee and tea for breakfast every morning. We did not go down to breakfast except for our very last . We were not on the all-inclusive package we paid as we went. they also provide a 110 outlet so you could plug in your phone. And they also had a strip if you needed more than one plug.
Every night at the resort there is turned down service. It’s an eco-friendly resort so if you don’t need new towels, you hang up your towel or,leave on floor for new. They replenish water etc. they also give you a phone portable to take, with you. There are no TVs in the room. There is no phone in the room the phone that they give you is what you use if you need to ask for anything.
Being at the top of the hill you walk down towards the reception and then from the reception area down to the beach is about 135 steps. So when we went down to the beach, we were down there for the day. The staff is amazingly friendly from the gentlemen who are repairing a wall to housekeeping, weight staff barkeepers the shuttle drivers. Everyone we encountered was super friendly, courteous, polite, and happy. The resort goes out of its way to make you feel happy. Also anyone with mobility issues you’d need to use the shuttle service.
4. There is no community pool at this resort. There are rooms I think that have a pool maybe one or two but it’s the ocean and is what you’re there for. The beach is black sand because it’s a volcanic island. It’s soft but when the sun is out, make sure you have flip-flops because the sand can get very hot. When the sun is out, you can see the bottom in the ocean. It’s not that tropical blue that you see in the Caribbean. It’s different color but it’s absolutely beautiful and it’s warm. We spent a lot of time in the water.
5. There are all kinds of Palapas on the beach some are higher, but most of them are low so we pulled out our chairs in the sun andif it got too hot, we would just pull them back under the Palapa. There is a yellow flag if you wanted wait staff to bring you a drink or food as there are menus under your Palapa they’re right there to serve you.
6. Every day we walked over to Anse Mamin, their sister beach, which is about a seven minute walk along the road along the ocean and a cliff. Felt good to get up and go to lunch. The food shack there is where we had lunch the entire time we were at the resort. The food, the service, the cocktails the beer all top-notch. The best Dorado fish sandwich I have ever had the sauce it’s messy, but it is delicious. Also, the best burger you will ever have. The local beer company has bottled beer that’s the only craft brewery on the entire island there’s passionfruit citrus, chocolate, stout, and one other. They also have Piton not craft and a few others. Beers typically ran about six or seven dollars a bottle and cocktails were $16 including wine same price. A shout out to Lisa at the burger, shack, great waitress and kudos to the chef and kitchen staff for making delicious food.
7. Down by the beach is another restaurant/bar that has Indian/St. Lucian cuisine. We ate there last night. The food was phenomenal. The service was phenomenal.
8. There are two shops on the property one has sundries gifts, etc. the other one is more of boutique shop where you can get wraps and bathing suits and shoes, etc. There’s also an art gallery on the property which we never went into. There is Pickleball and tennis down by the beach area. There is the scuba center, and that is where you take out your snorkel equipment. You can have of the day while you’re there. You can take out a hobbie cat you can take out paddle board or kayak. My husband utilized the snorkeling gear. The best snorkeling on the property was right off of the scuba center out towards on the left-hand side a lot of boats come into the property they go to the right of our property if you’re looking out at the ocean, but the best was to the left.
9. There are four restaurants on the property and they are all within walking distance of one another right near reception. Emeralds which is vegetarian/vegan the treehouse, and bawaloo. The menu for the three restaurants has a daily menu on the left and then a permanent menu on the right, but that also does change Without going into all three restaurants that we ate at they were all phenomenal, including the vegan vegetarian one it did not disappoint. The resort owns emerald farm 40% of their produce/flowers is shipped up to the resort on Tuesdays and Fridays. Everything is super fresh. The fourth restaurant is down by the beach that one is Indian/St. Lucian cuisine. The menu was amazing. The food was amazing.
10. Went to concierge on a Tuesday morning to book an excursion for Wednesday. We booked the Emerald farm. Martin was phenomenal as a guide. We got to taste some of the produce right off the branches. At the end of the tour the hotel also owns the local beer company, which is the only craft brewery on the island and we got to taste their local honey with their beekeeping area. Excellent. We also did the Sulphur Springs and the botanical garden with the waterfall and mineral Springs David was our driver who went from location to location.
11. Rajesh approached us Sunday on the beach and asked us how we liked our room. We told him it was excellent. We had a hillside Ocean view room. He then offered to upgrade our room at no cost to us. So we moved within less than 24 hours from room 14 a to 7B with the view of the pitons and sunset it was phenomenal. Jonathan the general manager on Sunday afternoon came up with us to make sure we like the room before we moved and it was a no-brainer phenomenal view. I will preface that on Sunday morning. We went to reception to say that our toilet was not working. We were going to be on the beach all day so she told us maintenance would go up there but then we were approached around 2 o’clock in the afternoon if we wanted to change our room that might’ve been the reason they switched us maybe not but either way they left us very happy.
12. There is entertainment every night at the hotel. It is at the Piton bar. every night the entertainment was excellent. On Tuesday nights all three restaurants on the main level close and there’s a cocktail reception from 6 to 7 PM on the beach and then a dinner buffet so if you’re not off property that’s the only place to eat on Tuesday night is down by the beach. That night we chose to go to their sister hotel Jade Mountain. We had reservations at 8:30. We got up there early and we were seated and if you have a chance to eat at Jade Mountain, please do so the service the view same as the one at our resort just a little higher up we’re all five stars. They also had a singer up at the Jade Mountain. She was wonderful.
Overall, you cannot go wrong with Anse Chastanet kudos the Troubetzkoy family. Karolin is wonderful and what a vision her husband had years ago to build these 2 beautiful resorts. If I could give this resort a 10, I would, I would not hesitate to recommend family and friends here at all.
Our last day was the only day that we took advantage of breakfast. Breakfast lunch or dinner the staff always asks you if you have any allergies, etc. It is a buffet continental style but if you want, you can order off the menu which we did, I ordered an omelette my husband had eggs and bacon, etc. the food was great. The one thing everybody should try while they’re there. It’s called Cocoa tea. I actually bought a Coco stick to make cocoa tea at home. It’s unique to the island and it’s a must try.
The day we left, we checked out and as we were getting into our taxi to head back to the airport we were given complementary coconut muffins with an apricot glaze and two bottles of ice cold water for the road.
One thing if your bags are not being checked any liquids that you purchased at the resort like hot sauce or banana ketchup, they will confiscate it at the St. Lucia airport. Mine was taken because it wasn’t checked in a bag when we only travel with carry-on lesson learned.
The airport is tiny. I suggest you get there 90 minutes before your flight. The line was really long. We had a 320 boarding for a 4 PM flight and we got to the airport at 2:15 PM. The airport you have to get in line to get through immigration and then you have to go through security and you have to take your shoes off. no sliding of anything manually have to move things. Once you get through security, it’s a two minute walk to get to your gate. When you start to board you head outside and you have to walk all the way down the airport to get to JetBlue you walk onthe plane from outside just a heads up. All ran smoothly made the flight on time.
Overall, I would recommend this place in a heartbeat. Kudos to the staff and owner.

Honeymoon, first time in St. Lucia
The food was excellent. Most of our meals were 10/10.
The service was also great and most everyone there was friendly and had a personality and smile.
Overall, definitely recommend for a honeymoon. I just wouldn't be back again because I want to be in a cool room for my sleep. Perhaps others would be more comfortable! For context I am a New York native born and raised, and have also lived in Florida for 2 years, Scotland, UK for 1 year, and Wilmington, NC for 3 years.
Noise level is fairly moderate but you will have nature noise. We loved that aspect and loved listening to the tree frogs chirping at night along with the birds. They do provide eye masks and ear plugs for your comfort but I never needed the ear plugs. The fans also made a nice white noise effect.
The atmosphere was romantic and tranquil and very nature-focused. I'm not sure if it's worth all of the full thousands it cost to stay there. One might get a slightly more bang for their buck elsewhere, but I truly have no idea and haven't done the research. This is the only resort I've stayed at on St. Lucia. For additional context, I've stayed at Paradise Island, Bahamas at Harborside Resort Timeshares as well as the Atlantis hotel, The Vanderbuilt Resort in Puerto Rico, Lotte Hotel in NYC, but I've also stayed in budget friendly motels, standard mid-level comfort inns, and hostels all over the world.
All in all, no regrets and would 100% have picked this again for our honeymoon!
