Midsummer

Nice and quiet place. Perfect for groups of friends who manage the food themselves. But we luxuriated with breakfast in the cafe. Great.

NIce Cozy Hostel

A nice cozy hostel, beautifully built in the old church stables.
Eva, the warm welcoming manager, takes care of you, as you arrive. She makes you feel like home. The place is simple, clean and well taken care of. The toilets/showers are outside the rooms (at least the one I took) and they serve two rooms each. There is a sink with a tap in the room. There is also a communal kitchen available.
Beautiful walks around the lake and in the forest around.
Continental breakfast available for an extra charge, with herring on the side for those who like Swedish delicacies.

A different experience

Far from the train station. A cottage (actually a log hut) beautifully converted with all basic amenities incorporated. Nicely decorated bed, dinning table, books to read & interiors give you the feeling of a country side relaxation site. A beautiful landscape outside the cottage. Towels, bedsheets & blankets are provided on chargeable basis. Rooms to be cleaned on your own at the time of check out or needs to paid if you want the hotel to clean up for you. Something strange ????
A very co-operative owner of the hotel welcomed us even at odd hours @ 11:00 pm night.

Nice Hostel to Explore Area

My wife and I stayed here 3 nights to let us do some cycling in the "Emigrant Trail" region of the Vilhelm Moberg (spelling?) stories. We stayed in the Gold Digger cabin, named for a local man who went to America and the Klondike gold rush and returned to Sweden. Our ensuite room was very comfortable and spacious. It had a tiny kitchen that was all we needed. A grocery store is a short walk away and had everything we needed. We stayed just after high season so the office hours were shorter. There is a little dining room off the office and the owner prepares excellent fresh waffles with jam and whipped cream. She has maps of cycling and walking routes in the area for 100 SEK that helped us plan 31 and 34 mile out and back routes on quiet paved roads. The hostel is across the street from a small lake with a nice walking path around it. The WiFi worked well. The town has no restaurants or petrol stations. The nearest are in Emmaboda about 8-10 km away. Overall it is a nice, quiet, very functional hostel that we enjoyed very much as we explored this part of rural Småland.

Langasjo STF Hostel

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The staff gave us a good informative explanation of the on site museum. The room was comfortable and clean. The kitchen was very clean and had all the needed kitchen equipment. The kitchen was organized very well. We enjoyed a walk around part of the lake across the street.
