Beautiful surroundings and great staff!
We stayed in Frejs magasin, small rooms but very clean and nice. Peaceful and quiet and only a minute stroll down to an awesome beach. The manager of the hotell himself, Frejs, drove us into town one of the days, because the bus did not go. Such a nice man and so was the rest of the staff. They were very helpful in every way. Sitting in the peaceful and beautiful patio, surrounded by trees and flowers in a beautiful garden having a very nice Swedish breakfast, was a great way to start the day. Ljugarn is a very nice place, and we went with children 7 years old. There is not many things to do in Ljugarn for children except going to the beach and playing mini golf, but hire a car and you can go everywhere and do fun things. A car is a must in Gotland, as the buses only takes you a few places and not too often. Our visit to Fårö in the north, with the absolutely stunning beaches and swimming in the blue lagune, was one of the highlights. The water is quite cold - we did not mind though. Gotland is also quite pricy during the summer season, but we will recommend Gotland to everyone! Great Island, easy to get around with a car, and many awesome beaches to visit with white sand you have never seen the like of before. We will be back! :)

Choose another hotel next time.
When we arrived at the hotel we managed to find the reception with help. There was no one, however, a locked door with an old note with a phone number that we called. There a lady replied that she was not in charge of this. The guy who handled it had run an errand and forgot to bring his phone. However, the lady could help us. We got information about going to another house that the hotel has further down in the village. There was the room and we were guided to the room by a lady who lives there. In the door was the key. The room was cold and we had to turn on the heating.
Close to restaurants and beach.
Hand soap at the sink nothing in the shower.
Varied fresh, broken and worn.
A basic breakfast was served in the main building just over 0.5 km from the property.
The price is not on par with what you get.
Not one more time.

Charming Inn (Penionat) from the 1910-20-ies.
This "pensionat" is very traditional and a bit old fashioned. The rooms in the main building are very small and toilet and shower in the corridor. No airconditioning!
The breakfast is not impressive and could be presented in a nicer way.

Lovely place but unloved
I agree with everything that Jesper G wrote in 2016 about the place. Great village, wonderful beach, warm sea (this was the baking summer of 2018!), lovely bungalows in a great park with a very convenient coop supermarket.
BUT...
The place is so unloved. Why don’t they buy new equipment from Ikea every year or so? Everything was broken: in our bungalow there was no blind on the door (important when it is daylight at 4:30am), the kettle was broken in 3 ways (no lid, leaking into its base, smells of burning plastic when boiled), saucepan lid broken, cooking spoon broken, freezer door of fridge broken, fridge overheating and only one of three kitchen lights working, and that’s without getting into the small stuff that’s not worth complaining about.
It’s frustrating because it COULD be so lovely, but we and our friends in the house next door (similar list including the cutlery drawer without a handle which could only be opened by opening the cupboard below first) were really irritated by these little things.
Overall I would consider staying here again, but I would look hard for better alternatives in the village.
