Freshly renovated house in a spectacular location on the Grimsel Pass

The hotel is situated in a location with a spectacular view on the Grimsel Pass, directly by the small lake there. The house was closed for a long time, but was lovingly and tastefully renovated and expanded a few years ago. The hotel has regular hotel rooms, but also smaller multi-bed rooms in an adjacent annex. The hearty breakfast with local products (including homemade jams) is eaten in the hotel's own restaurant with a view of the lake, which, by the way, is also recommended for dinner. The big plus of the hotel is definitely its location and the scenic beauty. There is nothing more beautiful than waking up early in the morning on the still-solitary Grimsel Pass. A wide variety of hiking trails begin in the immediate vicinity. The famous Gelmer Funicular and a Gletsch station of the Furka Steam Railway are also reachable in a few minutes by car. The owner families and the staff were extremely friendly. Definitely a recommendation!

breakfast buffet too expensive for poor selection

we had the idea on Sunday morning to go to the grimsel in sunshine and there in the restaurant "passhöhe" to take advantage of the breakfast buffet. unfortunately we were very disappointed, because we expected something else for 30.- per person. there was baked bread and culminating and a grain bread, but not even a Sunday zuppen. the orange juice was diluted,watery.no stirrer,bacon or roast or a sweet pastry. confi,butter,cheese and cold cuts I can also eat at home and cheaper! know 2 breakfast buffet for 30.- per person,which are also worth the money and offer a lot more,so prefer to have breakfast there again in the future!

Cozy newly renovated hotel with a great view of Lake Totensee.

We spent a wonderful, very, very quiet night in this beautifully located and freshly renovated hotel. Everything is stylishly designed. There is no elevator or TV, but a great view of Lake Totensee. Breakfast was good, dinner was as well. We would gladly return. The price-performance ratio is right.

The Unexpected

When I pop into a tourist watering hole, my expecations are accordingly limeted.
And then there is Hotel Grimsel Passhöhe.
We had had lunch that that was both in taste and presentation nothing short of a Zurich downtown eatery. The fresh and local products used completely convince the most spoilt brats in their sports cars. The generous portions equally delight them hardened bikers. Congratulations, you really know what guests want.
We had a brief chat with the landlady. Ever so humble and charming. See you soon, my dear, with all our mates in tow and spending the night for the full experience.

Great hotel on the Grimsel Pass

Fantastic hotel on the Grimsel Pass. Very friendly staff and super helpful. Hotel is modern with a rustic feeling. Rooms are comfortable and a good size however the lack of tea and coffee facilities or iron and iron board even at reception loose it 1 point however the staff were very helpful and ironed a pair of trousers.
Views are to die for and the food is amazing. Don’t look at the prices but remember you are in Switzerland.
Overall a superb stay and we will come back again.
