Amazing food, staff and views. What more could you want?

My mom and I had a wonderful stay at the Maya Caprice in June. The view from our room and the restaurant deck was stunning. The food was 5-star (just go there and order the 3-course menu of the day and you won't be disappointed). The staff was friendly and hardworking. I enjoyed looking at the Alps from the spa hot tub and our room balcony. It's right by the train station (the village is tiny, but if you stay somewhere uphill instead, it could be tiring with your bags), making it a convenient choice. It's a bit more rustic/small than the pictures may look. No AC but also no screens on the windows or balcony doors (normal for Europe). The door locks are hard to use. A few minor things like that, but overall very comfortable. They've done a nice job modernizing the place and there is an elevator. Really it's the food, staff and glorious view that put it over the top!

Hotel surviving on great views only!

We wanted to love this hotel however it was a huge disappointment. The staff did their best and tried to accommodate guests. We stayed 4 nights and had a “superior room with balcony” by their designated rooms. By the end of our stay we had asked enough questions to conclude that it is really the hotel owners who are to blame for the shortcomings of this property. To start all the towel should be thrown away. It appeared that very little detergent was used and edges were frayed. Pillows were horrible. Two thin pillows that were so thin they don’t feel like a pillow and the thicker one had lumpy stuffing . The hotel spa did not appear sanitary and we only went in the hot tub once! There was no place to put your belongings in the shower and the floor was extremely slippery. They had a shampoo/soap gel mounted to the wall in the shower and also by the bathroom sink. The one in the shower ran out and was not refilled. We finally found the maid and she refilled it promptly. The balcony has amazing views however, the people with rooms next to you, on each side, are able to look past the divider into your balcony and worse yet into your room. No privacy!!! It is also easy to get into your room if they wanted to. Since the hotel has no air conditioning the windows are kept opened for air circulation. This hotel cost us $700 a night. We are in Europe for one month, prior to this hotel we were in Chamonix, Zermatt and now we are in Vienna (Wien) our hotels in these locations cost the same per night or more and have all been 5 star ratings. Mont Blanc, Mont Cervin and now hotel Motto. This hotel should not be charging more than $200 a night! Beware! On the plus side. They had a great pizza restaurant that we ordered from several times.

A beautiful gem in the mountains

First time in Wengen, what a beautiful part of the world! We stayed at the Maya Caprice. After a long day travelling, the first best thing was the location is literally off the train, no long walks! It’s a beautiful hotel, great food, great people and a spa to chill out in when you come back from a lovely walk… it was perfect and we will definitely be back…
Even if you didn’t stay, go have a pizza, one of the best we’ve had!

This is truly an amazing place for a base of operations in the Jungfrau region. Train is right outside your doorway, and the cable car to Mannlichen is just a 5 minute walk away.
The rooms are lovely and comfortable, the staff is amazing, and the spa downstairs is an excellent way to work out the knots from the daily hiking/adventuring.
Breakfast each day is amazing, and the dining room is an excellent choice for dinner, as well.

Amazing

We had such a great stay here. The location is perfect. The room was so quiet I slept really well. We stayed in a more expensive hotel in Grindelwald but we preferred this one. They offered freshly cooked eggs in the morning which the other hotel didn’t. The staff were the friendliest we had experienced in Switzerland. I’ve stayed in many hotels across the world with my work and would not hesitate to recommend this one
