Better inn hotel is beautiful. The communal sitting area is very relaxing, we enjoyed the free breakfast and the room was clean. They do need to work on keeping the boiler turned on, as the cold shower issue was still happening during our stay.
There is a street with a variety of small shops nearby and we were told by a local we met outsode the hotel that there is also a small market nearby, but we weren't staying long and decided not to go. A lot of locals came upto us while we were walking, and it was hard to know their intentions - The staff said that if we wanted to go for a longer walk one of the staff would be happy to accompany us to make sure we felt safe.
Isack Ibava looked after us during our stay and made sure we had everything we needed, the treatment was 5*. He is professional, amiable and considerate. He organised a driver when we needed it and was able to give us advice on what to do. We went to Materuni Waterfalls & coffee experience (One of my mums favourite parts of our short Tanzania trip) with Isack as our guide- he is a wonderful & knowledgeable guide and I highly reccomend him. Isack woke up really early twice to make sure we had breakfast before our Safari & gorilla trek (3.30am), and when we were late back to the hotel from our safari called me to make sure everything is OK.
Also a thank you to Denis for being our driver & a friendly face, and a thank you to the head chef Maduu who also looked after us.

Nice & Comfortable place to stay
We stayed in total for 2 nights here and enjoyed every minute of it - we really had a great time here with our guests, the rooms were clean and nice decorated and also the breakfast was very delicious! The staff was very friendly and also the location is nice for discovering Moshi-Town!

I stayed for one week. Overall it wasn't too bad, but I am not a difficult person to please. More picky customers would probably not be too happy with the service.
The Positives:
- The Room was a decent size, had great water pressure and a very effective hot water heater.
- Bed was quite comfortable and had extra pillows
- area is quiet and peaceful setting
- the food was quite delish
- only a short boda or tuktuk ride into town
Negatives:
- the power goes out often
- no AC in rooms (does have fan though)
- no screens on windows...so when the power goes out and you have no fan, you can't even open the windows at night cause you'll get eaten alive by mosquitoes...so you just sit in a hot ass room with no air movement.
- staff were friendly but seemed very unmotivated. Had to wave someone down every single time I needed a refill of my drink, or anything like that.
- in 7 days, my room was not cleaned once. I am sure they would have if I asked, but normally this is something that is automatically done.

Deserves attention, worth it
With our 3 children (20-somethings) I was there just before and just after our ascent of Mount Kilimanjaro. We had a very pleasant stay there. A nice introduction to the "real Africa". Quiet area, nice people, good service. Special thanks to Denis, Josph and Rosey for the good care. Walking distance to downtown Moshi where we had coffee and lunch at the Union Cafe, KNCU.
