Home away from Home!
From the moment I met Nuy, I was blown away by her hospitality and energy. She ensured I was happy with my room choice, I was in an apartment in another building about 8 mins walk away. I didn’t mind walking from one building to the other as it was a nice friendly neighbourhood. The apartment was a good size, had a comfortable bed, the shower was hot and the ac powerful.
Like Home is located close to the centre. There is a park not too far away where you can attend a free morning yoga or pilates class.
I chose to stay at this hostel as I liked the idea that breakfast and an evening meal were included - bonus! I totally made the right choice. Tea, coffee and water was always available. The breakfast was eggs of your choice, toast and fruit. It was a great way to start the day and there were loads of restaurants and cafes nearby for lunch. Sometimes I went next door for a fresh fruit juice or smoothie in the afternoon.
Dinner is a delicious buffet, sometimes Nuy would mix it up by adding a dish from a different part of Asia. During dinner you get to meet the guests from the other buildings as well as some other tourists or locals passing through.
If you needed help or advice about anything, Nuy is there for you. I booked an amazing cooking class through her and saved on the price. I also brought some material that needed to be hemmed and was done very professionally via Nuy. I would also recommend booking any tours through her as she knows which ones are more reputable. There are laundry machines available for a small fee or Nuy can do it for you.
I was only meant to stay for two weeks and try another guesthouse but chose to extend my stay as it really truly did feel like home to me. I did move to another building closer to the main one, just because a room became available and to try it out. It was another nice self contained and bright room which was even closer to my fruit smoothie.
If you want great value and to meet nice people, then I would definitely recommend Like Home. I saw all age groups and nationalities, there was a wonderful mix of amazing people. I will most certainly be returning to Like Home on my next trip and will recommend it to others.
As for Nuy’s laugh - infectious!

Cigarette, cigar and pot smoke.
If you like cigarette and pot smoke with your meals you’ll appreciate Like Home. Dining is outdoors but can be crowded and there’s no designated no smoking area. Some of the smokers are very inconsiderate.
The room was not bad for the price.

Very friendly to rent, but if something is disappointing or not to their liking, it is very false and rude.
We rented a PCX, it was perfect for a big tour to Khanchaburi, said a friend of the owner who rented the PCX to us and suddenly went around the corner to bring it in so that it was completely checked and in order for the trip, everyone was very friendly. ... we were away for 2 days and already had problems, added 1 can of oil, needed a new bogie, etc., had a total of 4 times engine problems with the PCX, had to cancel a trip 3 times..., they tried to call the 2 numbers several times that were on the rental paper but no one answered.. when we got back the boss was angry because we had driven so far because that was not good for the PCX.. we explained the costs and problems and had them on paper but that was it was all up to us, the boss and the friend said, eventually after a heated argument we got our deposit back and we just left without getting the costs reimbursed. PS; We drive quietly and in Thailand no faster than 70 p/h. Coincidentally, there were other people who had problems with renting a moped and they were also very rude about that.

The worst experience ever
The owner, Noi, behaved terribly. She yelled at me in front of all the customers and had an extremely unpleasant attitude.
This morning, my Airbnb host took me to Noi’s shop to rent a scooter. She was very busy, and I waited there until another woman eventually provided me with the scooter. She asked for 50 THB for gas but didn’t explain the ‘pick up empty and return empty’ rule. When I returned the scooter, I asked about it again, and suddenly, Noi started yelling at me, calling me stupid for not understanding their gas rules. She also mentioned “she didn’t pay” in front of all her customers, even though they asked for a 1000 THB deposit and 250 THB upon return. She made it seem like it was all my fault.
This is the worst experience I’ve encountered during my 1.5 weeks in Thailand so far. It was a nightmare. I really don’t want to see that face and attitude ever again.

Dirty room, cheap but not good value for money.
I didn't stay in the main hostel. I was put in the separate building a few minutes walk away which was a bit confusing. The room I stayed in was dirty. It had an ensuite but it smelled very off putting. The bed had a lot of dead bugs on it, other peoples hair too. There were gecko droppings on the floor. The mesh on the windows was old and broken so it didn't keep out mosquitos. The room had no soundproofing, so it was very noisy at night. I think the room hadn't been used or cleaned in a long time.
