This was a good basic room that is a bit out of the way but nice for the price and fairly close to the main night area and beaches. The beds were tiny but did the job ok. After hours you must walk around to the back which involved walking an extra road down and wasn’t convenient to find at night.

the best part was its location to Sairee beach. but the actual room didn't look as nice as the photos are.

Never again!

Worst nights of our lives – absolutely not recommended!
We stayed at the WYH Hotel on Koh Tao with our two young children – and it was one of the worst experiences ever.
Already on arrival the chaos began: The hotel operator was unable (or unwilling) to arrange a taxi from the pier to the hotel. Instead, he just said we should take care of it ourselves. With two small children and luggage, this was totally unacceptable.
Access to the hotel room was dangerous: The stairs had extremely high steps (about 30 cm), which posed a great risk especially for children. Once at the top, a disgusting stench immediately struck us in the room – it smelled permanently of rotten eggs and sewage treatment plant, presumably from the drains. Sleep was hard to think of in these circumstances.
The hygienic conditions in the room were catastrophic:
• The joints in the bathroom were completely infested with mold
• Towels and bed linen had yellow spots
• Tiles had come loose next to the bed – we had to put a carpet over it so our children wouldn’t get hurt
• The room could not be locked, there was an open gap in the door
• Cockroaches and geckos were walking around the room
• Behind the furniture and under the bed, huge piles of garbage appeared during the relocation
• There was thick dust under the sink
• Behind the toilet it was wet, the pipes were leaking, everything full of cobwebs
The entire accommodation was in an unsanitary and run-down condition – with children absolutely intolerable.
The surroundings were also disappointing: Nearby Sairee Beach was littered with trash – plastic, broken glass, used sanitary towels and other debris lay everywhere. Safe bathing with children was simply impossible.
Conclusion: This hotel was a single imposition for us – uncertain, unkempt and completely neglected. We strongly advise against staying here. It needs thorough cleaning, remediation and a whole new management.

Ok location but the hotel needs maintenance

Nice staff, very friendly and attentive. The location is ok, within walking distance to the shops, restaurants and the beach. However, the area right by the hotel has a bit of rubbish and what looks like an unoccupied field. the room was very basic and not very clean. The tap was broken, which my husband fixed. The showers not very clean and need maintenance. The beds were comfortable.
