Very Nice Beach resort

Resort is an old hotel with good rooms and excellent amenities. Nice place to stay with the family or as couples lot of places to eat especially during the night. Lovely beach within walking distance of the hotel. Food was nice,

Nice Beach Report

The PMY Beach Resort is an old hotel with decently sized rooms and excellent amenities. Just a stone's throw from the beach it provides a good place to stay for families and couples who want to relax by the beach. Nice night life with little restaurants on the beach itself with a nice cool breeze and good food.

Good for a short stay

The interior of the hotel, specifically the hallways are old and are in desperate need of updating. The room I stayed in was very nice and big (2nd floor). I found the bed to be too soft for my liking, however others may prefer that. The bathroom was clean and the hot water worked properly. If you are only interested in the beach then the location is good. The beach is across the street. However you will need to either rent a motorbike or take a taxi to get to Rayong town. The beach is definitely not the best I have been to in Thailand, however was acceptable. It seems this area is used more by Thais rather than foreigners. The area is quiet and there is nothing to do in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. The morning buffet breakfast was good and comparable to other hotels that offer similar. There are food vendors on the main street outside the hotel. This is an excellent option for food. The pool is huge for a hotel. Very nice. However it was closed for a portion of my stay as for some reason they decided to clean it during the day rather than at night. The staff is friendly and their english is acceptable. Given the location I felt the price was a little high. 800 B would be more reasonable for this hotel. I would stay again.

Priceworthy

It was like coming back to the 80s, but still not shabby. Compared to the prize it was ok. The staff was nice. There was very few visitors. Close to the small beach lagoons that was nice to take the children swimming into.

Not to my expectations

We were in a family room with a perfect view of the sea. The rooms were spacious. The bathrooms looked very neat, like recently done up. But the reality was very different from the pictures on the web. the outside wall was stained(with mould i suppose).The furniture was terribly old, and torn in places. The whole room was carpeted, and the carpet was worn out with nails sticking out at the edges. Had a musty smell. The kitchenette had no basic utensils. The location is very good for a quiet holiday as it is a bit of a distance from town. Otherwise, the place needs to be renovated, seriously.
