Pure relaxation
All the previous reviews are correct. The "negatives" - room a little tired, no pool bar service, no nearby activities etc. - all are justified comments.If you are looking for lively entertainment go elsewhere. Cha-am is just 10 miles or so further South and has plenty of bars, restaurants, jet skis etc. We went there one afternoon by taxi and couldn't wait to get back to Verano!
Having just had a full on 3 week tour of New Zealand we wanted a chillout beach break at a convenient distance from Bangkok airport. We couldn't have chosen a better place to stay.
The staff were lovely (the manager even took us on a sightseeing tour one day as he wasn't too busy!), the food was excellent. The sandy beach was empty and the water warm. As we were the only guests for mid week (a few other rooms occupied at the weekend) we had sole use of the facilities. It was like having your own private island in the Maldives or Caribbean for £70 a night!
There are no shops restaurants etc for at least a mile so stock up on essentials like gin and tonic before you come. But in this area of posh weekend villas for rich locals, there is a small fishing "village", quiet walks, and plenty of bird and butterfly life. Delightful.
Finally, as in much of Asia, there are some stray dogs. But we found these to be friendly, particularly the young mum with her two suckling pups. Apologies to Verano, but we did smuggle some extra rations to her. We're British after all.
We hope this review encourages you to book as Verano needs more paying guests. You won't regret it.

Just for relax don’t expect good service
The place is well located, the beach very nice, room clean, average food.
However for the price, not cheap, you don’t have any service at all, they not even make the room, don’t collect the dishes after you eat or try to offer a coffee when you finish your meal.
If you are looking for a place where you can relax, be quite and enjoy by yourself then this is ok

Lovely location friendly staff great beach and wonderful Thai family restaurant nearby breakfast at hotel very good there are cushions just need to know where to look

We wanted a very quiet beachside hotel, as a stopover whilst returning to UK after a long tiring tour of New Zealand. Verano beach was perfect. If you want shopping, water sports, bars etc do not go here. If you want peace,birds and butterflies, and empty beaches, this will be perfect for you.
The hotel was very quiet during our stay, with just 3 or 4 rooms occupied at most, which was not good for business but it was fine for us. We were treated like special guests, the owner even volunteering to take us on a sightseeing tour for a few hours.
Food was very good and well priced.
We had one of the best rooms. Make sure you go for a sea view room. The extra cost will be worth it.

A Hidden Gem!!
We booked this Verana Beach Villa based on its high ratings, superb reviews and tranquil location. And once there, we found Verano to be one of the very rare hidden gems!! ……………Away from major tourist spots, Verano is the Paradise on Earth secluded and surrounded by natural beauty and directly located right on the Puek Tian beach. Its ambience (especially the gorgeous landscape) is the mixture of relaxing, calm and yet vibrant as the sight and sound of wind-driven waves, turning tides, the Sun, the Moon ... are sooooooo very captivating……..And not to be intimidated by all the surrounding natural wonders , the cooking crew’s skill and talent is just superb!! Most importantly, the sweet owners and the entire staff are extraordinarily friendly and welcoming……………The irony here is that we are from Florida, land of many beautiful and famous beaches; and yet we helplessly and wholeheartedly fall head over heels in love with this little-known Puek Tian beach!!
