Great Family Summer Holiday

We stayed at Le Sultan family 2 adults, 2 kids 14yrs & 16yrs this August, and we had an absolutely fantastic holiday from start to finish, our first visit at this resort.
The hotel is beautiful, with lovely gardens, a private beach, and spotless swimming pool. Our family sea view room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, making it perfect for a family stay, with plenty of hanging space for 4 of us which is rare. One negative, the shower did leak, so needs some attention.
The service was outstanding. Every member of staff was friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. They went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, which made our holiday even more enjoyable, special mention to the life guards and entertainment team, making our pools days very relaxing and fun.
The food was excellent, with plenty of variety at every meal. There was something for everyone, and everything was fresh and delicious. The live music in the evenings was very good which provided a very relaxing atmosphere.
Overall, we couldn't have asked for a better family holiday. Le Sultan Hotel exceeded our expectations in every way, thanks to its excellent facilities, fantastic food, and exceptional service. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday in Tunisia, and we would definitely love to return.

Come and you won't be disappointed - the views are amazing!

I must say, Le Sultan is the best Tunisian hotel I have been to - and I've been to several! I know staff are good in many hotels, but the ones here go over and above, ranging fully from Sales, Cleaning Ladies, Reception, Entertainment Team, Bar Staff, Lifeguards and Restaurant Crew.
A lot of the staff remember me by name, knew my drink and food choices after day one and, being a solo traveller, I never felt alone or lonely, however they also were aware and respected my need for occasional privacy.
The food is great, varied and, unusually, they have a vegetarian area as well as a vegan section. You never have to wait as food is replenished immediately.
The views are to die for, they have horse riding on site and a play area separately for children, entertainment throughout the day and evening that you can join if you want, but no pressure.
The ladies in the massage rooms do not clock watch and find your issues and deal with them sympathetically and professionally.
Any issues are dealt with immediately and nothing is ever to much.
From the bottom of my heart, I thank Le Sultan for not just getting it right but exceeding my expectations.

Excellent stay! The room was clean, comfortable, and very well equipped. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious, varied, and generous. Highly recommended!

first holiday to tunisia as a family … travel agents honest review

Our Family Holiday at Le Sultan Hammamet, Tunisia ☀️
We’ve just returned from a family holiday at Le Sultan Hammamet, and overall, we had a lovely stay. This was our first visit to Tunisia and, despite a few little things that could be improved, we would definitely consider returning.
Arrival & Check-In
From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel very welcome. Our room was ready for us even though we arrived early, which was a fantastic start to the holiday. We were seated and offered drinks while our bags were taken up to our room, and check-in was quick, simple and pleasant.
You can also change money at the hotel, which was really convenient. We sorted this out while paying the tourist tax, so it was all very straightforward.
Our Room ️
Our room was a really good size and worked brilliantly for our family. We had a large king-size bed, with sliding partition doors separating two twin beds for the children, giving everyone their own space.
The bathroom was a decent size with a walk-in shower, toilet and sink area. There was also a free safe, plenty of wardrobe space and a fridge, which was restocked with fresh water every day. We also had a lovely fruit basket waiting for us on arrival.
The balcony was a great size for four people and had views overlooking both the pool and the sea. We spent quite a few evenings sitting out there, watching the entertainment and enjoying the atmosphere.
Pool, Beach & Activities ️
The pool area was a good size and never felt too overcrowded. There was aqua gym and water polo every day, and the animation team were always around offering different activities such as darts, football, archery and more.
We even booked the jet skis through the hotel, which was great fun.
One of the biggest positives for us was the hotel’s private beach. The beach was clean, the sand was beautiful, and the sea was warm and crystal clear. Paddle boards, kayaks, pedalos and catamarans were included, with other activities such as jet skis, scuba diving and parasailing available for an additional charge.
There were also tennis courts, mini golf and other activities available on-site, with some requiring you to book a time slot. It was great having so much available without having to leave the hotel.
The hotel also has a newly refurbished gym. My husband used it and was very impressed, particularly with the state-of-the-art treadmills, free weights and the panoramic sea views. I, however, cannot personally comment as I never made it in there!
The Staff ❤️
The staff really are one of the hotel’s biggest assets. They were so kind, friendly and hardworking throughout our stay.
Around the pool, staff would often come over to your sunbed and ask what drinks you would like, then bring them over to you. In the evenings, we spent a lot of time sitting on the outdoor sofas, and again, staff would come over and take our drinks orders.
They genuinely couldn’t do enough for you, and a friendly smile and a small tip goes a long way. We also found the restaurant staff fantastic. They would remember where you liked to sit and, on occasions, would already have your drinks waiting for you when you arrived.
Bars
The pool bar could get quite busy, and at peak times you could have a bit of a wait. The cocktails weren’t pre-made, though, which was a nice touch — they were made fresh, although served in plastic beakers around the pool.
We found the inside bar generally had shorter queues, and drinks were served in proper glassware.
Entertainment
We spent most evenings sitting outside, playing pool and card games and enjoying the atmosphere.
Our children aren’t particularly interested in evening entertainment, so we only watched a couple of the shows. They quickly became bored with them, although I think younger children would probably enjoy the entertainment much more.
For us, the evening shows were probably more of a “meh” than a highlight, but that’s very much down to personal preference.
Food ️
The food was a bit of a mixed bag for us, mainly because of having children with us.
Breakfast wasn’t a huge hit with the kids. There weren’t any fresh juices available, although there was water and a selection of smoothies. Personally, I loved the fresh omelettes cooked to order and the pastries, but by day two the kids were already fed up with pancakes and Nutella!
Lunch, however, was always a hit with them, while I really enjoyed dinner.
I loved being able to try some of the local Tunisian food. There was lots of seafood and traditional Tunisian dishes, and a lot of the food was beautifully presented and cooked fresh in front of you.
There was also the usual safe options for children, including chips, pasta, pizza and, of course, ice cream.
If you have a particularly fussy eater, though, I would say the food choices may be a little more challenging. Our children are fairly picky, so we did find ourselves relying on the more familiar options at times.
The dining area itself was lovely, and again, the service was excellent. The waiters remembered where we liked to sit and often had our drinks ready for us, which was a really nice personal touch.
The Snack Bar
This was probably my biggest bugbear of the whole holiday.
There were only two staff working at the snack bar, and everything was cooked fresh — crepes, waffles, paninis etc. While freshly made food is great, it meant the queues could become very long.
You were also standing outside on concrete in the full sun, and on one occasion we waited around 40 minutes just for ice cream .
I think this is one area where a few small changes could make a huge difference, both for guests and for the staff.
For example, having self-service soft drink machines for the children could take some pressure off the staff, and a self-service ice cream station at the snack bar would massively reduce the queues.
Overall ⭐️
Overall, we had a lovely holiday at Le Sultan Hammamet.
The hotel was clean, the facilities were great, the beach was beautiful and the staff were absolutely fantastic. There were a few little things that could be improved, particularly around the snack bar and some of the food options for children, but these certainly didn’t ruin our holiday.
For a first visit to Tunisia, we were really impressed. We loved the country, enjoyed the hotel and had a brilliant family break.
Would we return? Absolutely. ❤️
