Recommended, very good location
Very good location: a few blocks from Av. 18 de Julio and the Baltasar Brum bus terminal. Being located on Uruguay Avenue, it is very convenient to come from the airport by bus because they travel along this avenue and the stop is close to the hotel, approx. 1 block.
It is an old building, it is appreciated that they rescue this type of heritage. Despite being so old, it is relatively well preserved. The bathroom services were modernized.
Many of the rooms do not have windows (this is how the building was built in the 19th century). The doors of the rooms have the possibility of serving as a window since they have light entry but this was blocked by installing new knobs. You could change the knobs for others that do not block this light entry.
The air conditioning in the room works so well that I had to turn it off because it was very cold. It was difficult for me to find the right temperature but I managed it.
At some point I lost the signal of the cable TV channels. But since I don't watch that much TV, I turned it off and didn't give it any importance.

Heating failed
Give bar soap and shampoo. You need to hand over the air and TV control at the check-out. The key is at the reception whenever you leave. Good location, you can walk to the square of Artigas and take buses to various tourist sites. It has an elevator and window. The shower is excellent, warm and with good water flow. It has a fridge. The outlet could be lower, at the same height as the pillow. The socket in the window does not support mobile. The bathroom has no barrier separating the box. The paper carrier is in front of the trash, it's not hygienic. Next piece, put more above. Heater: Even at maximum degree (30), the room remained cold. He turned off himself in the morning and needed to call again (July/2025). This was missing, as it was very cold during the stay. The curtain on the windows is transparent, light eye-catching. The lack of sufficient heating impaired the entire stay. No coffee, no water.

Inhospitable place.
Terrible, dirty... Horrible service. Disgusting and stinky. I advise you to avoid the region, it's horrible, the photos posted by him are very deceiving... It gives the impression of being a Copacabana palace but it's nothing more than a fleabag, dirty, stinky and gives the feeling that it's going to collapse at any moment.

Inhospitable place
The place makes you sick because of the smell and dirt. Terrible service. I felt like vomiting from the smell and I was disgusted by the bed that looked like it wasn't clean. The walls were peeling and the furniture was rotten.

Pretty good
We had a double room for just for one night. It was very small, so that the bed was almost in the way of getting inside the room (one person had to get in, close the door a little and walk through, for the other to come in.
The sheets and towels were not completely clean (you could see they've been washed, but had small, embedded old stains).
Bathroom had the shower area behind a curtain, but toilet and bidet were also within that same area (a bit weired and not the most comfortable).
Very nice staff at reception, easy check in and payment by card with no extra charges. Location of the hotel is good, with just 8 minutes walk to plaza Independencia and shops, few restaurants and money exchange within short walking distance too.
Wi-fi is of good quality and speed. There is soap in the bathroom, which is not always the case in South America.
