Alness & Invergordon

I recently stayed at the Station Hotel in Alness while working in the area, and it turned out to be an ideal base. The accommodation is basic but clean, comfortable, and exactly what you need when you’re travelling for work.
The bar has a good atmosphere — friendly staff, good selection of drinks, and a relaxed vibe that’s perfect after a long day. The food is solid pub fayre, served promptly and without fuss.
If you’re working around Alness, Invergordon, or anywhere nearby, this place is practical, convenient, and good value. It does what it says on the tin, and does it well. I’d happily stay again.

Super Friendly Staff

We just popped in for coffee and a bowl of soup on a truly grey and miserable afternoon. Found the friendliest, most attentive staff we've encountered in ages. What a refreshing change. And the soup was delicious!

Wot a place

Fantastic staff and atmosphere dog friendly place. I would recommend this gor launch time eating and drinking. Good selection of drinks and food for vegans.

This was like discovering the moon amongst the streetlights. Truly eye opening.

Lovely little place, situated in the middle of a mysterious land known as allness. My discovery of this place was nothing short of astounding, the kids coming back from school, walking tall and with purpose, holding their chippys. The hotel was beautiful and quaint. Wonderful staff the breakfast was good on both occasions in which I stayed. Would definitely recommend if you want to experience more of the Scottish culture. They also have a community garden which I found myself getting lost in due to its nature.

Auld jail

Stayed for 2 nights as was near family for a funeral.
The landlady upgraded us to their newly refurbished Annexe. Thank you so much.
The Annexe is across the road & called the Auld Jail .
Beautifully refurbished rooms. Large comfy beds, crisp white bedding, nicely decorated & has everything you need for your stay.
Yes you can hear the traffic as they’re original single glaze sash windows but it didn’t affect our sleep or stay.
Breakfast was great & in the main hotel.
We had a huge full Scottish. Black pudding was gorgeous!
Also ate there in the night & had chicken breast stuffed with haggis & whisky sauce. Huge portions & plenty of veg. Very nicely cooked.
Swapped potatoes for chips which were home cooked & delicious.
Staff during breakfast & the evening meal were friendly & eager to please.
We also had a few drinks in the bar & the landlady made delicious baby Guinness with which we toasted our uncle.
We plan to go again in the summer to see our family -it’s a great base for seeing the surrounding area.
There’s also outside space with a bar & a convenient car park.
We were well looked after thank you.
