This accommodation only Hotel was originally built in the late 19th century. The Charlesworth is situated in the very centre of Bournemouth, only 8 minutes from the award-winning beaches and the town’s shops, bars and restaurants.

Very Happy Guests

My partner and I have just spent 3 nights at the Charlesworth. We took our dog and all 3 of us received a warm welcome. We had a lovely spacious room which was warm and comfortable. Would definitely recommend. Wendy and Brian were excellent hosts and we will returning in the new year. Located close to town and beach and near to lots of dog friendly places to eat.

Perfect.

We stayed for 3 nights and it was perfect for what we needed.
Room was clean, had all the facilities you could expect and we weren’t disturbed in the night at all.
Location was brilliant, 5/10 minute walk from the town centre.
Brian’s and Wendy were fabulous too!

Amazing hotel, in such a great location

My family and I stayed at the Charlesworth on our seaside holiday in Bournemouth. We were greeted by Wendy, who is so friendly and welcoming. The hotel room was nice, clean and very spacious. We stayed in a family room which had one double bed and a bunk bed. The beds were made and fresh towels daily.
The hotel is literally a 5 minute walk from the beach (which is beautiful) restaurants, bars and pier. It is also about a 7 minute walk away from a complex which has various restaurants (Nando's, Prezzo, Ask Italian etc), Odeon cinema and Costa.
Amazing hotel, highly recommend and we'll definitely stay there again when we're next in Bournemouth.

Do not stay at this Hotel, read ALL reviews!!!

The hotel had a very pungent smell upon arrival & during our stay. It is in need of a good update/overhaul, modernisation. Our room was tiny, basic & in desperate need of updating. Hence brown walls & brown towels & thin worn out carpet. Left all toiletries & accessories in our case during our two night stay as felt dirty everywhere…..Bathroom desperately in need of replacing very dirty & unhygienic also had a blocked sink. Not appealing at all when cleaning yr teeth.
It was the Airshow wkend, we booked this last minute & paid the over the top.
WE STRONGLY ADVISE NOT TO STAY AT THIS HOTEL.

If any Hotel was as bad as you have described, I would not have stayed five minutes let alone the whole weekend. You stayed with your husband and parents (who occupied another room.) We are predicting that this negative review has come about following an incident on one night when we were called after disturbance complaints from your neighbouring guest due to your extreme intoxication and had to be escorted to your bedroom.
Perhaps this is fuelled by your embarrassment.

Be honest and human with your clients

I’ve done a booking by mistake in this hotel from 27 to 30 July on booking.com, as I’m leaving actually in Montreal Qc, Canada, I had the attention to book a hotel in Sandbank Ontario in Canada, but booking app provided a list of hotels including this one, and according to my budget I’ve booked this hotel.
The day of my trip 27th July I would like to get the itinerary via google maps, then I was surprised that the hotel was in UK not in Canada.
I sent the hotel a message telling that I’ve done a mistake by booking your hotel, and they told me that it’s fine just check with booking.com they will fix you that. When I reached the customer care of Booking.com they told that the hotel will not refund your stay.
My issues was that why you are telling me in the message to check with Booking.com they will fixe the issue, you should be honest and human when dealing with your clients. If you told me that we are sorry we can do nothing for you, we will not refund you, I will not waste my time talking to booking.com
I will repeat that when doing business in tourism industry, be honest and human with your clients if you would like to keep you business alive.

Your initial booking and indeed advance payment was with booking.com who were holding your payment. Hence my advice to you to approach them direct. On no occasion did I say they would "fix it" as I was in no position to do that knowing they held your reservation. You cancelled on the very day of your arrival for a three day booking. I had an empty room for the first two nights yet was able to let the third night and actioned a refund for that night. Our cancellation policy is 7 days and therefore was not obligated to refund you at all.
