Queens Head, excellent, room, dinner and breakfast.

Stayed here to visit Shaftesbury and Glastonbury. The village of Broad Chalke is well out of the way, between Salisbury and Shaftesbury, although there is a daytime bus every hour or so that goes to both. Its very peaceful rural location and the only place to stay, eat and drink is at the Queens Head (and why wouldn’t you) and do a few walks, as it is very picturesque. I would highly recommend this one for a short break. There is a cafe/small store/post office next door which looks like a community hub.
Brendan and Violet looked after us although credit must also go to the chef who cooked our dinner. We went for a post dinner stroll, saw the beer garden over the road, which had a lovely outlook across the fields, in addition to the outside space at the rear of the pub.
Our room was one of those over the pub, facing the front, recently refurbished and looked that way. Very neat and plush. Air-conditioned, unlike those in the garden annexe area that backs into the small, complimentary, car park. Lovely touches, like a cafetière, fresh milk and coffee to put in it. Got some cookies when we arrived and bottles of water provided on the bedside. Plenty of UK sockets. One USB socket in the radio. Hot water bottle (not needed in July) but a lovely touch. Great toiletries, very fragrant (shower gel, lotion, shampoo and conditioner), hairdryer and bathroom supplies like shower caps, tampons, cotton buds and dental kit. Fluffy towels. Rainfall shower with optional handheld attachment - great pressure. Heated towel rail. Crisp bed linen and whole room was spotlessly clean. Small Roberts radio set to classic fm, soothing.
Fluffy towels. Some coat hangers and some hooks for hanging clothes and a big hook on the back of the door. No drawers or wardrobe.
Excellent WiFi. Good choice of beer, including local ales, with samples available to try. Didn’t try wine or cocktails but bar service was prompt and very friendly.
The whole place was not that busy but I hope the investment in the property reaps rewards and I really recommend it.

Great stay ! Lovely old pub, comfortable and well thought out room, and without exception friendly and charming staff which makes a real difference to any stay 😊

Lovely country pub, comfortable room, great bed, nice bathroom, lovely tea and coffee and chocolate cookies!! The food was delicious, the staff wonderful so friendly and helpful ... and the rooms have air conditioning and as we are in a heatwave this is awesome!!

Summer stay in Broad Chalke

Stayed one night and had an evening meal at the Queen's Head. The room was excellent and the food superb.

Outstanding

Well what can I say apart from fantastic experience at this beautiful traditional pub for a birthday treat getaway!
10/10 room was stunning and spotless clean considering it was to accommodate pets , home made cookies on arrival nice touch and gorgeous!
The food and service also excellent, nothing to much trouble, and went out there way to accommodate Bandit our big dog !!
Shout out to Jo the manager and his assistant manager, great place we will be back , thank you
