Thank you for a fabulous experience
From the moment we arrived to a warm and friendly welcoming to the consideration given in the room of extra thoughtful items, something that most hotels no longer provide, to the amazing food in the restaurant we could not have imagined a more fantastic experience at
this stylish establishment. The staff along with the owner do over and above to secure the best experience ever. We had two night there and throughly felt spoilt and special with every staff member we encountered. Thank you for a truly fabulous experience. We have been travelling all over the UK from Australia and this by far has been the best experience we have had.

Over hyped and disappointing
Following a very disappointing evening meal the month before, which I didn't initially review out of fairness to the establishment, we returned to try the lauded sunday lunch. Unfortunately this only confirmed our initial thoughts that the restaurant and food are very over-hyped. The building and decor are lovely (and I assume the rooms are as well) Service is very good, although can be a little off by some, and the bar and outside seating areas are comfortable and inviting. The restaurant area is open and functional but not particularly cosy or special in any way, being dominated by a huge unattended bar, generally only utilised by the restaurant staff as they attend to their tables. The menu is over-priced for what is a basic and bland offering (even allowing for the 'quality local products' edict) On both occssions food was dry and overcooked, as if left on a hot plate for too long and far from enjoyable. On our first occasion we complained about the food and got some minor recompense (the chef had by now gone home and we didn't want anything else anyway) and even then still got someone elses bar bill on our own!! This was finally corrected and we left whole heartedly annoyed. This review could have been provided earlier, but looking at previous reviews, the owners don't seem to appreciate negative reviews as they believe they cause them loss and injustice. So, at a later date I took their advice and gave the Farriers a second chance with their Sunday lunch offering. Still poor, still slow service between course, undercooked veg, with bullet hard roasties! All in all very disapponting for the second time and will not return for any restaurant offerings again. Genuinely lovey place and nice for an evening drink but mediocre menu and mediocre quality of cooking. If you fancy trying a Channel 4 winner, I can definitely suggest The Curious Fox in Skipton!

Comfortable, luxurious and beautifully designed.
We stayed in War Horse. It was so comfortable with little touches like water in the fridge, a jug of milk for tea, Bose sound bar, cotton wool balls etc. The underfloor heating in the bathroom feels so luxurious and it has a big bath for 2 people as well as shower. The bed was so comfortable and the room was quiet. Highly recommended!

Last Sunday Dinner
What a fabulous place to eat. The decor and ambience was oozing expensive place. However the staff the service the food the whole experience was perfect. I would highly recommend this restaurant. One of the best experiences to dine in.

OUR HOME FROM HOME 'THE FARRIER'
Just completed another two night stay at 'The Farrier'. We've lost count of the amount of our stays and restaurant visits, but this boutique hotel/restaurant is the best without a seed out doubt. We travel and visit hotels/restaurants both for business and pleasure purposes on a regular basis and nothing comes close to this establishment.
The Hotel itself, furnishings, decor, rooms, beds, bedding, attention to detail, toiletries, the little touches - complimentary toothbrushes/shaving razor/room spray/cotton wool/buds/chocolates to name but a few is not the norm and is outstanding. Every part of the hotel/grounds is immaculate and scrupulously clean.
The restaurant food is simply beautiful, impeccable and delicious and does not compare to other restaurants. It should be noted that all of the food, starters/mains/desserts is cooked fresh to order from scratch not pre-cooked and re-heated like the majority of restaurants these days so as the saying goes 'Patience is a virtue'. Sit back, relax and enjoy !
The members of staff/family are also the making of 'The Farrier'. Everyone is so polite, helpful, courteous and personable. We can not fathom the odd minute negative (sometimes ridiculous) reviews that have been posted on Google and Trip Advisor.
It should also be noted that these are incredulously difficult times for all businesses in this current economic climate due to running costs/other factors etc. These precious places should be
cherished.
We highly recommend The Farrier, you won't be disappointed.
