The room was very comfortable with a nice shower, coffee machine and fresh milk. The staff were very friendly and helped with recommendations for local walks. Dinner at the pub was excellent. The location is great - in the centre of the village with country walks on your doorstep and even a heated lido nearby for a morning swim.

Very poor accommodation very noisy

The accommodation was in an annex across from the pubs kitchens. There is no parking anywhere near the Chagford Inn parking is in fact impossible in the small town , too many restricted zones and after 6pm it was ok to park up outside a bay but for the next 3 hours were spent leaving the accommodation and a parked bay on side of road was not available until 10 30 pm so the evening was ruined. This was ok until 9am but then would have to be moved by 11am.
The two rooms were advertised onto a courtyard. This was a small off road drive full of beer barrels and resembled steptoes yard. This could be made for an off road car. The rooms were next to or above the main generator and refrigerated room for the beer barrels and very noisy all night and would have been quieter next to a power station . This disrupted sleep and not good as we’d a long journey ahead. The kitchens were across and also noisy fans could be heard. There were no available rooms to move to . The rooms were dirty with cobwebs evident , basic white sheets and room dated , too rustic .shower cubicle small, bed springy , there was a tea maid but the room required a fridge particularly as the chagford inn do not provide breakfast but this seemed to be advertised on their site. Staff said they did not do breakfast but other inns do in the town do but this was untrue as every place would not offer breakfast to people outside and a local cafe did not open until 9 30 and another did not serve breakfast. Seemed businesses in Chagford are missing an opportunity and were not obliging. Breakfast had to be at nearby travelodge site at whiddon down. In all the accommodation very poor and staff were not around in the morning and no where to leave a key so had to leave this in the door. Pleased this was only for one night as a stop off before a long 8 hour journey.
I would not stay there or indeed in Chagford as the town seemed very unfriendly and set in their ways.

The Chagford Inn had real character and a bit quirky. Very comfortable room and excellent dinner.

Love this Inn and accommodation nice homely touches,with good facilities .
Food in the inn was superb we looked forward to eating there every night .A lot of love and hard work has gone into this place and it shows , will definitely stay here again.
