A perfect cottage in an idyllic location next to Lys Y fran reservoir. Dog friendly do don't expect immaculate cottage but clean and in good order. Very comfortable all round. Swimming pool and lovely grounds.
Being next to water dpirfz centre and visitor centre cafd a great bonus too.

Just perfect
we booked stable cottage as a last min break away. We were greeted by Gareth and Rosemarie upon arrival and they were the 2 of the nicest people i have ever met they made you feel instantly welcome. Our cottage was clean and cute and just a nice place to be. We did go out every day and once back at the cottage we were able to have a nice game of badminton and then a nice refreshing swim in the pool to end the perfect day. This is a place or extreme peace and quiet and was just what we needed for our break away there are loads of places to go everyday but please bear in mind to take everything you need with you and do a shop as there or well we could not find a local shop that was less than half hours drive away as you are so remote but this did not deter us from have the most amazing time away we will def come back here because of how lovely our cottage was and set in beautiful grounds.

Perfect holiday
Fantastic cottage, beautiful location next to Llys y Fran reservoir. Short walk thru gate to visitor centre with cafe and water sports.
Owners very welcoming and accommodating to our special request. Pool gardens and games room were lovely features. Cottage was comfortable and well equipped.
Absolutely great base for a break.
Recommend visiting the blue lagoon nr porthgain and Saundersfoot to eat at the stone crab restaurant.

Poor value for money
We were greeted on arrival and told that Lake Cottage was ready for us, but were then shocked to find it was nothing like the promotional photos. It was dark, cold, unmaintained and unloved. We had to have the lights and heating on all day, every day, despite it being July/August. But we'd travelled hours to get there, with a trailer, bikes, kids and dog, and this was our one family holiday of the year, so we just tried to make the best of it.
We spent hours cleaning because every surface was grubby. We bought an air freshener to plug in and run 24 hours a day because of the damp smell. Broken, dirty garden furniture, dead lightbulbs, chipped surfaces, broken hooks, poor wifi, unclean floors (and the hoover in the cottage was useless), a TV remote held together by layers of sticky tape, stair banister black with grime, loose toilet seat, previous guests’ belongings and rubbish left behind... I could go on.
Forget a nice welcome pack – there were leaflets that were three years out of date, and not even even basics like a dishcloth or handsoap. One upside: the bit of communal grass between the cottages (NOT the cottage’s own garden) was well maintained, and we did make use of that, mainly to escape the cottage itself.
It is shocking that they charge over £2,000 for 10 days (high season) for this place. We did complain to the owners, when we could find them, about broken and missing items (always to be told that troublesome previous guests were the reason), and when we left early we made it clear that we weren't happy. We felt thoroughly ripped off, but because we'd elected to stay for nearly the whole time, they wouldn't consider a partial refund. We've holidayed all over Pembrokeshire for decades - camping, hotels and many cottages - but this cottage was sadly the biggest letdown.

Ideal retreat or long term stay.
I’m not really sure I can put into words how wonderful a place Ivy Court is. The cottages are beautiful, the location stunning and the hosts, literally the kindest funniest people you could hope to meet. We stayed at the cottages for several months this year due to house purchases going wrong. We’ll never forget our time there.
The facilities available for families are fantastic. You can walk out the back gate straight onto the reservoir. There are several things for kids to do on site. There’s a park, swimming pool and games room. At Llys-Y-Fran itself there are excellent trout fishing facilities. This would make a great destination for a fishing break.
Ivy Court is extremely dog friendly. There are extensive dog walks straight from the cottage. There is also a small dog agility area just outside the garden gate at the reservoir.
This is the kind of place where you can get away from the modern stresses of life. It was a lovely thing to be able to switch off my phone and forget the world existed. It’s so peaceful there and very little light pollution. I slept like a bear the whole time we were there.
The cottage was really well appointed with a huge American fridge freezer. The kitchen is really well appointed and there are washing and drying facilities on site.
Highly recommend for a short or long term break.
