Great pub

We had a drink& food in the golf hotel & would highly recommend it, the beer was spot on & the food was delicious. Staff were very helpful & thank you so much Graeme who went above & beyond being helpful to us. Great pub & it was a pleasure to meet you all. Flo

One nasty person in Scotland

It was a Monday night so nothing else in town open. Walked in the bar and was quickly and rudely told by barmaid they had no tables for dining available in restaurant or bar even though there were clearly places to do so. Been in Scotland an entire week. That was the first and only time anyone has been anything but wonderful. I know there are plenty of nice reviews but had to vent. She was nasty. Inexcusable.

Thanks for your review and I am so sorry you felt like this in The Golf Hotel as this is not what we are about. I understand however that you were give a table in the bar to eat, the restaurant tables were pre booked so although it looked like they were empty, they were simply booked with the next 30 minutes. Not enough time to let you sit there, order and eat.
I have spoken to the staff member and she is sorry that she came over as nasty, this was not her intention.
Once again my apologies.

Perfect Valentine's night

After pre dinner drinks in the bar, a perfect Valentine's dinner at the hotel last night. Ambience spot on with fresh red roses on the table and friendly, welcoming waitress service. Steak dinner was superb and complimentary glass of wine a perfect accompaniment. A perfect night finished off with coffee and homemade truffles and then a couple of sneaky ports in the bar. Magic.

Lunch in January

34 of us had lunch at the Golf Hotel. It was amazing. Greeted by the owner. The food was delicious, especially the roast beef which just melted in the mouth (my choice). The ambiance was fabulous. It is a great choice for big numbers, but equally good for a supper for 2. Crail is lucky to have such a great venue.

An old establishment provides good times!

We spent three nights at The Golf Hotel in Crail while doing the Fife Trail. Initially we were apprehensive, but any concerns we may have had were quickly alleviated. Our room, while small, provided all we needed (though the shower was pretty small. No doubt caused by the age of the building.). A common gathering room is available on the first floor if you want to spread out a bit. We enjoyed a game of “football” (we’re Canadian, so it’s soccer!) with the owner, Graham. He shared a lot of the hotel’s history with obvious pride. We had the opportunity to listen to live music in the pub with Ivins & Son. What a blast! Thanks for all the dancing! The restaurant provides an excellent breakfast with very ample portions. We had dinner on a Sunday when they serve a very tasty roast dinner with Yorkshire pudding. For another dinner we had a wonderful squash soup and sandwiches. Again, the portions were generous and the food delicious.
Thank you to Graham, the staff and the residents of the town for giving us wonderful memories.
