Great hospitality!

We had a wonderful evening with family and friends. A big pre-wedding get together. Our server, Tilly, was amazing! She was not only working the bar, but serving food, and even showing people their rooms. She didn’t skip a beat, got everyone’s orders correct, answered all our food questions, and kept a smile on her face! The food was superb!

ABYSMAL ATTITUDE

What a way to ruin a good buisiness. i have stayed & eaten here aquite a few times over the last few years
I booked a pod here & had a meal booked for the saturday night for a group of people
When i checked in i was told breakfast was included 8:30 to 9:30,
On the evening we were told we had to order now otherwise we would not get food, Usually on a Saturday night the place is full, but there were plenty of empty tables & not many people in.
I was organising an event & had to be out early but returned at 9:25 for breakfast,
The same gentleman who had been sering behind the bar & serving food the night before, was clearing some plates, he looked at me & just walked straight past me into the kitchen, he then staid there for approx 5 mins before coming out.
I said i had come for my breakfast, he shrugged his shoulders & waved his arms about. said its past 9:30 so breakfast is finished, 'the kitchen has started making the yorkshire puddings for dinner, i said can you just do me a bacon sandwich?
'if its a bacon sandwich you want i will give you the money for one out of my own pocket '
i was discusted & walked out, there is no where near there to buy a bacon sandwich
I WONT BE BACK
I also know a couple who were booked in a room the same night who asked for an evening meal, it was turned down ' we are full' as i have already said there was a lot of empty tables that night, so not a way to look after residents

My husband and I stayed here a couple of weeks ago. The pods were clean but tiny and so warm inside. The car park from the pods to the toilets were loose gravel and on the morning of leaving the accommodation I slipped and fell on the gravel. On the same morning a car was trying to pull out and skidded backwards trying to get out. Not very practical!! I sent photos to the hotel asking for compensation and was told a straight no!! Apparently they have never had any issues with this which I really don’t believe as myself and my husband both nearly slipped a few times during our stay. I would hate to see an elderly person fall and have a more serious injury but they didn’t think it was an issue, just beware. Nice pub food though

Divine Pie

Absolutely divine food, amazing lamb & sweet potato pie, and superb featherblade of beef. Excellant pub and excellant service.

Terrific experience at the F&Hs

Just spent 4 lovely, relaxing evenings here. The views and setting are fantastic; out first time to this part of the UK and it really is a magical place. It really was a perfect homebase to explore Whitby, Saltburn, etc.
Our room was spartan but very clean and seemed newly renovated. Food and the adjacent pub were all high-quality as well. Very friendly staff and dog-friendly so we can't wait to come back.
