Too many stairs.

Despite all these stairs this is a nice little guest house and very quiet, except for the fan in the bath room, no night light option. The lady running it is very pleasant and puts on a decent breakfast. Clean and well kept

Cramped

A bit small & cramped, had to climb 4 lots of stairs with heavy suitcases. No where to put cases so climbing over them in room. Breakfast ok, not ideal eating in bedroom when so cramped .Nice shower. Too much furniture for a small room, my advice, lose the wardrobe and put a rail in alcove and small draw under. most guests would only stay 1 night don’t need all that furniture. Noisy fridge.
Guest house in good location. Only stayed one night before a cruise.

Overpriced, could do better

Just not my cup of tea and overpriced for location and amenities. I expect guest lounges, books available etc for over £100 per night. Grace the owner is very pleasant but more boarding house than guest house. There was food in the freezer the apartment in the basement and I had the distinct impression that the apartment had been vacated by its permanent resident so I could stay.
Breakfast is now made avaiblein your room, didn’t have it, went out.

Clean & Comfortable / Nothing Fancy

My daughter and I spent the night at No 7. We were on the 3rd floor in a twin floor. It had an attached bath with stall shower. The room was a bit cramped but it was adequate. We just had to step over our bags as we moved around. The room and bath were clean. The beds were comfortable. The room was equipped with a larger than average television, coffee/tea making supplies as well as a portable space heater and fan (nice extra touches).
It’s a old home and the place is a little worn around the edges. It could use some fresh paint. It looks like the homeowner may live here. She was out of town and her son came down from London to take care of guests. Breakfast was served in the living/dining room area. There were bits and bobs of sewing paraphernalia tucked away here and there. It’s not a problem just expect to be in someone’s home dining room and not a restaurant dining room.
The guesthouse is right across the street from downtown Dover so access to downtown (if that’s what you want) is easy. Downtown Dover looks like it is suffering though. There are lots of closed businesses. Parking is limited so we had to park in a pay and display for a bit then on the street. Thankfully it was late so overnight was free and Sunday was also free.
Breakfast was lite and good. Toast, croissants, fruit, yogurt, cereal, juice, coffee and tea were available. The staff (son) was great. He was very personable and helpful.
We have no real complaints. It isn’t fancy. But, it is clean and comfortable. I would stay here again.

Badly let down

Booked a night to break up the journey on a family ski holiday. Offered to pay in advance (4 months ago) but was refused. A week to go to the holiday they send me a message through booking.com to say they have to cancel my reservation. Due to all other hotels in the area being full, I’ve had to book 30 miles out and pay double for the privelige. If there was a genuine reason, I would’ve preferred a personal phone call. Cheers ☹️
