Sketchy nervous stay
Filthy carpets , peeling paint ,scuff marks on walls , lift notvworking , really narrow corridors, dirty windows , felt like a doo house

Terrible standard and poor cleaning!
It was terrible in every way. I still haven't received a reply from them regarding a refund.
We arrived at the hotel after booking a one-week stay. The standard of the rooms was appalling. There was a foul odor in the rooms and throughout the hotel, and the place was swarming with flies. The toilet was full of feces, the bathroom faucet was loose, and the pillow lacked a cover and had a large brown stain on it. There were large stains on the carpet, the elevator wasn't working and to top it off there were loads of pidgeon poop on the windowsill. We spoke to the reception staff, and they promised us a refund after we complained about the cleanliness and the condition of the room. So far, we haven't received any money back at all, despite speaking to them in person about the refund on two separate occasions. We have sent them numerous photos and made it clear in every way that this is a formal complaint. Given this—combined with the fact that we were promised a refund but received nothing—this hotel should be avoided at all costs!

Another shabby Eastbourne hotel
I will start with the good.
The room looked newly decorated/refurbished. It was spacious - both bedroom and bathroom large. The bed was comfortable and we slept well. The bathroom had clean tiles with white grouting (can often be mouldy) and nice touches. There was a pleasant view onto side street and good on street parking
Iron/board and hairdryer included
Now the bad.
The windows were horribly dirty. The woodwork was bizarelly not included in thr redecoration and the polystyrene(?) ceiling tiles in bathrooms were stained as was the back of the toilet.
There was no lighting around bed area - no table laps etc, and a bedside table only on one side. There were no mugs or glasses, just paper cups for all drinks. The furnishings were done on a budget - a cheaper than IKEA budget. Considering the size of the room there was a lack of storage - just one small bedside table and a hanging stand. There was a trailing extension lead for sockets by the bed but only on one side
We didn't use TV - it looked fine though cables trailing over mirror including aerial cable - analogue signal? WiFi was fine for browsing - we didn't try streaming.
Worst of all though and the main reason for the one star rating (otherwise would have given a two) - it was not possible to secure the door from the inside - anyone with a key can enter
In terms of service, the front door was closed on arrival at 11am. It took several attempts to get a response. The "reception" looked more like a caretakers or security guard's back room with a boarded up hatch and messy interior. Staff were more interested in their phones than dealing with guest enquiries.
So sadly, another of those Eastbourne hotels with huge potential but fallen into the wrong hands with not enough interest or investment in the business.

An awful place, the worst I've ever stayed in
Dreadful 3 nights.
Given 3rd floor room for couple aged 75 yrs, despite booking 11 mths ago and despite being promised ground or 1st floor. So at 75 yrs I had to climb 55 steps with 2 cases + and no lift, no help.
Neglected & shabby throughout, as if the place had been cleared/re-possessed and now new owners are refurnishing from charity shops.
If it is work-in-progress then it should not be open yet and should have someone there who cares.
No management, no staff, no cleaning, reception rarely manned, mostly boarded up, no help, no pride. Most times when I came or went there was someone waiting in the foyer trying to make contact by phone with management.
3rd floor bedroom had no space, no useable table, 1 iffy chair, no fridge, no fan, no wardrobe, questionable tea/milk supplies, noisy blinds with the window open, no housekeeping, bins just fill up.
So bad we could not return to the room except to try to sleep at nighttime.
Is there any positive ? Location. The stairwells were recently painted. Thats it !!!!!

Con merchants
Booked for 4 nights as working in the area. Turned up and said he couldn't find my details. Claimed a problem with booking.com. Showed the email and he asked to see it in the app. Then he pressed the cancel button. Luckily I got my money back despite the no cancellation policy when I threatened certain actions. A fraudster at work. Was stranded late evening scrambling for a room and ended up kipping on a building site where I was working.
