My partner and I stayed at The Tiger Inn during our trek from Seaford, and it was the highlight of our trip. The inn is gorgeous. Our room was cozy and exceptionally clean. The food and breakfast the next morning were outstanding and the staff very warm and welcoming.

Charming Pub and Rooms

What a little gem the pub and staff are both amazing really welcoming and helpful. The quirky space is warm with a lovely fireplace and a great friendly atmosphere. There is parking but it was busy.
We stayed on a Sunday evening and had Sunday menu which very tasty. This pub is very dog friendly which we loved but be prepared if that’s not for you. The beers are local, the spirits are varied and the cocktail menu was a nice touch (An expresso martini finished the evening beautifully).
The room: Grace was spotlessly clean but not huge but really quirky with a fab bathroom with lots of lovely products inside. There are steps up so not suitable for disabled.
Generally The Tiger is excellent and well worth a visit we plan to return for a longer stay.

An unusual little place of great character in a unique location.
We were also glad that the kitchen hours had been extended to 9.00pm. Good food; including breakfast, but it should be, for the high price.

Just a rare find these days. Everything you could hope for. Exactly the best type of old village pub, great atmosphere, fine tap room and diversity of excellent food and drink. Menu delicious…. Loosen your belt for the full Tiger breakfast! Staff so helpful, courteous and …. well just happy to make your stay as memorable as possible… Location superb, from the immediate tables on the village green to everything local for fine sightseeing and walks etc… This is a conundrum… we don’t want to shout an amazing review because we may spark a rush on the place… we will be coming back very soon… stamp reserved on everything… we loved the Tiger Inn. Thank you…. There was a crooked picture on the wall , but you can’t have everything?…

Lovely place to stay

We wanted to stay somewhere near to Eastbourne for the airshow, so decided on this place. Obviously popular, as lots of the rooms had already been booked out a long time in advance of the show, despite not being the cheapest place around to stay. However, we managed to book for 4 nights, so we could also see the local area. Setting is lovely - right on a very nice village green, where it is reputed Sherlock Holmes came to retire and keep bees (see the blue plaque on the house on the opposite corner of the green!). Very pleasant room, with comfy bed, tea and coffee making, bottles of water, mint choccies (!) TV, chairs, drawers and cupboards, plus a good sized wardrobe with ironing board and hairdryer. Ensuite bathroom, with a decent powerful shower (so many these days are too weedy!) Breakfast is downstairs in the 'snug' to the left of the main bar area and there is a wide choice of cereals, fruit, teas, coffees, etc, plus hot cooked menu choices (or combination of!) Spoilt for choice and it will keep you going all day! Civilsed breakfast times (from 8.30) so no need to rush to get down there. Carparking is just before the village green, so it's easy to wheel any cases into the place. Although very popular with food and drink in the evenings, we found it was quiet by 10pm and after that not a sound until breakfast time - bliss!
