Wonderful place
This place is stunning, parking no problem, checkin no problem, room amazing, fixtures and fittings are top notch, staff spot on, breakfast amazing, whole place immaculate, dog friendly, peace and quiet, great base for walking or just go and chill, it’s a shame to leave

Superb stay exceeding our expectations
We had a superb stay in the Cairn room. Every aspect of our stay from the design, the bed, the bathroom, the facilities, the breakfast we're beyond our expectations. The staff were very attentive and happy to chat when time was available. Well worth the visit.

Stunning setting, beautiful B&B, fantastic staff & delicious breakfast!
We stayed at 1692 Wasdale for three nights for a long weekend to celebrate a friend’s birthday – three couples and our two dogs – and had an absolutely wonderful stay.
The B&B is in a beautiful location with truly stunning views, and the property itself is gorgeous. Everything is finished to a very high standard, spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. We stayed in the Tarn Suite, which was perfect for us with the dogs, with French doors opening directly onto a lovely patio and grassed area. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the bathroom was lovely with fabulous products.
All of the staff were professional, friendly and welcoming, and Faith was especially helpful, giving us lots of recommendations for places to eat and visit. The nearby Gosforth Hall is within walking distance, and we also tried some of the other recommended pubs, including The Strands, which was excellent.
Breakfast was superb and definitely one of the highlights! There was a fantastic cold buffet with breads, fruit, yoghurts and lots of choice – the Bircher muesli was absolutely delicious – followed by a great selection of freshly cooked hot breakfasts - can order anything you want.
The honesty bar was really well stocked with a wide variety of drinks, and we loved all the thoughtful touches for our dogs. Bowls, a dog bed, treats and poo bags were all provided, which made it feel genuinely dog-friendly rather than simply somewhere that accepts dogs.
The surrounding area is spectacular for walking, with beautiful scenery in every direction. We also loved seeing the alpacas in the field in front of the property, and having the hot tub to come back to after a long day of hiking was wonderful.
Our only small suggestion would be for the dog charge to be made clearer at the time of booking or check-in, as we weren’t aware of the additional cost until checkout. We also felt that, given there was already an additional charge for using the hot tub because we had booked through Booking.com, it would have been a nice gesture for this to have been waived.
Those small points aside, we had a fantastic three-night stay and would highly recommend 1692 Wasdale. Beautiful accommodation, lovely staff, amazing breakfasts, a fabulous location and absolutely stunning views.

Excellent
I travelled with my son and we stayed for one night on the top floor. We had a wonderful stay. The views were absolutely beautiful, and the staff were very professional, welcoming and friendly.
The breakfast area was cosy and charming, and the breakfast itself was delicious. We especially loved the beautiful view from our window and the friendly alpacas nearby — my son really enjoyed feeding them in the morning.
There was convenient parking, the bed was very comfortable, and everything about our stay was lovely.
Thank you so much for your hospitality. We truly enjoyed our time here and would be very happy to return.

Our favourite B & B
We’ve now been twice, and will continue to visit for as long as they continue accepting guests!
Not much to add that hasn’t already been said, but would definitely recommend some of the walks/bike rides in the area, it really is a beautiful part of the world - ask Faith for recommendations and directions, she’s very knowledgeable and friendly, as is the whole team there.
Make sure to say hello to alpacas when you arrive, they’re lovely cheeky chappies!
