Lovely hotel and staff

Just come back from this little gem of a place, it was lovely. Staff go above and beyond to help you, nothing is too much trouble. No aircraft noise at night so no worries there. Meal in evening was lovely, and freshly cooked breakfast at the weekend ( I can't remember the last time I had hot hash browns!)

Bed bugs from hotel ruined my holiday

Staying in this hotel before my flight to France ruined my family holiday due to a bed bug infestation. We stayed for one night, leaving at 4am to catch an early flight for our two week holiday. By the time I boarded the plane, I was itching like mad but assumed it was a few mosquito bites. When I got to my destination, however, I realised I was covered head to toe in bed bug bites. By the next morning the bites had turned into blisters due to an allergic reaction and ruined my holiday. I had to spend money on steroids, pain killers, antihistamines. We had to bin clothes that were ruined by trying to wash them on a high heat to kill the bugs. I alerted the hotel and they have closed off the room. They offered a refund and complimentary night's stay in one of their hotels. Like a sick joke! I turned down the offer and have demanded my costs be repaid and they've refused to return my emails. I have had a message from their insurers, who said they would come back to me in 90 days. Dreadful service. Stay at your own risk!

TAKE EARPLUGS! The hotel is directly under the flight path.
Double bed is only a standard 4’6” - too small for 2 adults in this day and age (and also it’s quite firm!).
Very friendly staff.

No hot water in shower. Poor customer experience.

Stayed in lodges. 1 night.
No hot water in shower.
Advised reception at 8:45am (walked to reception)
Was told they would send maintenance “straight away”
I advised reception, ok, we will wait in room.
30 mins later I went to reception.
Was advised that maintenance had looked, but couldn’t “fix quickly”
Was told I hadn’t been waiting 30 mins. It was exactly 30 mins.
I explained that it was really not cool that they had not said anything to me.
Lady in office was not customer focused, more interested in explaining how I was in the wrong.
No sorry at any stage.
I was offered another room to move to, but I was checking out in 30 mins, so didn’t want to pack up, move kids etc.
I stay in hotels a lot. I communicated clearly that I thought she was incredibly rude. I don’t think I have had to say that to someone in hospitality for over a decade.

Thank you for your review and I am sorry that you felt the lady in reception was not empathetic to your needs. After speaking to her she sees things very differently and even offered you another room to shower in. I am sorry that you did not enjoy your stay.

Great place no customer service

This is a beautiful setting and the food is amazing and good value. The only thing that lets it down is the service or should I say lack of service.
Had a lovely meal but the lack of service and waiting around left in a corner not acceptable. No smile, no apology for the wait.
This ruins what would have been a lovely meal. Maybe that’s why the offer is on to compensate
