The perfect stay as always. Staff is amazing - big shoutout to Tom at the golf club - the food is out of this world. 10/10

Disappointing
Definitely not 5*.
Don't go here if you're looking for a relaxing spa experience.
The only outdoor pool really caters for kids as opposed to a relaxing spa.
Service across the board is average at best.
Food isn't great (aside from breakfast). The evening meal we had was poor.
Couldn't order a glass of wine at the spa, but was charged for it plus service, and was told we wouldn't be refunded for a couple of weeks.
Generally disappointing and not what it used to be.

Lovely food - not so good facilities…
We went along to The Glasshouse for their buffet lunch, and that was great. Attentive, friendly service and lovely food. Quite expensive but we knew that and were happy to pay.
The thing that let the whole experience down were the toilets. 3 cubicles for that many people is ridiculous - it was Saturday and it was very busy, however that would be no suprise to the management team. The queue was out the door and back into reception. One cubicle had no toilet paper, and it seemed various people had raised this to the reception team - for a hotel and spa such as The Grove, customers should not have to raise the lack of loo roll!!
It didn’t ruin the lunch but it really impacted on what I thought of the place.

Terrible
Booked a garden view room for some r&r at the spa and grounds,.., was woken up at 8.25 am by building works.. they were renovating the room below to the side and behind me.. no mention of works when i booked and reluctant to refund me for my stay.. very bad customer service.. they dont seem to care about the guests at all. All i could hear was drilling banging and builders smoking outside my room swearing and swearing with kids all around.

Not a nice experience
Ok lets start with the positive
1. The golf facilities
2. Grounds and landscaping
Now the negative
1. Sense of arrival. Carnage, one bellman, 5 cars. Took us 10 mins to drop our bags off
2. Check in. Carnage. Two check in staff and 40 people waiting to check in and out. Madness and took us 30 mins to check in. We had spa treatments booked and we ended up being late
3. Rooms - so out dated. Furniture from day it was built 20 years ago. Still had baths with showers overhead. Taps are falling apart, couldn't turn off the hot water. Mattress is rock hard. Would have expected goosedown topper
4. Spa - treatment and experience I'd say 5/10. Nothing special.
5. Indoor pool - water not 29 degrees as it should be. It was a lot colder
6. My wife wanted medical tape for her fractured toe. They dont have any in the hotel. Shocking
7. Breakfast. What a horrible experience. So many people. 15 min wait for my omelette and had to ask three times for my coffee.
This is not a 5 star hotel and should definatly not command £500/night.
Too packed and clearly they cant cope with the volume of people. Terrible experience overall
Would I stay again, definitely NOT. I'd return only for golf
