We stayed at this hotel for 1 night and found it to be great. The staff were really helpful, the pool was lovely and warm and the rooms were clean. The only issue we had was that the hotel was obviously having problems with water pressure. We could have a boiling hot shower but if you tried to turn the cold tap on, the whole lot stopped working. Other guests were having the same problem and it was also causing issues in the pool area. We spoke to the lady at reception and asked if we could have a room with a shower that worked. She went upstairs herself to check the shower in an unoccupied room and gave us a new key. We were very happy to find that we had been upgraded which was a nice surprise. We ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent. I also had a massage in the spa and it was probably the best massage I've ever had. It wasn't perfect, but problems were dealt with efficiently and the atmosphere was really friendly. I would stay again.

Four Day Spa Break

We recently had a four day stay at Belstead Brook Hotel & Spa and found it to be a mixed experience.
The hotel has potential, but overall it feels quite dated and would really benefit from some refurbishment. The décor throughout is tired, and the gardens looked a little neglected. It would have been lovely to have some well-maintained outdoor seating, such as nice tables to relax outside and make the most of the grounds.
Breakfast was good, with a decent options available.
We only ate in the restaurant on one evening. The meal was pleasant enough, but it had more of a ready-meal feel than freshly prepared food.
Unfortunately, the spa was disappointing. It felt grubby in places, and there were missing tiles around the pool area, which gave it a poorly maintained appearance and took away from what should have been a relaxing experience.
Overall, the hotel could be much better with some investment and updating. While there were some positives, the dated décor, tired grounds, lack of parking at weekends and lack of maintenance in the spa mean we wouldn’t rush back in its current condition.

Excellent service

We stayed at Belstead Brook from Monday to Friday last week. As I had recently had a hip replacement operation we had requested a ground floor room with walk in shower, when we checked in at reception they confirmed this and helped to take our luggage to the room. The room was very clean and comfortable, there was a table fan available as the weather was very hot.
We ate in both the bar and restaurant in the evening, the food was well cooked and tasty.
We also had breakfast every morning and would like to make a special mention for Kela, she was very efficient, she made sure the buffet was replenished as needed, cleared empty plates regularly and cleaned and replaced cutlery when the guests left.
I would also like to mention Joe who helped sort out a problem with disabled parking and carried our luggage out to the car when we were leaving.
Overall we had a lovely break.

Management's response to complaint about filth was to retaliate against the guest!

I found the Muthu Belstead Brook Hotel to be an absolute comedy show. It's clearly run by rank amateurs. This hotel has zero concept of customer service or basic hospitality management. First, the bar closed at 10:00 PM. Second, the cleanliness was shocking. The toilet bowl in Room 111 was filthy; housekeeping clearly only does a superficial clean of the front. The bottom of the bend was heavily stained with old, unsightly waste from previous guests. I complained about this hygiene issue on the spot and the reception staff thanked me for pointing this out and told me that the housekeeping staff would be reprimanded for this and the cleaning instructions would be updated to make sure that this issue would be sorted out going forward.
However it appears that the Housekeeping Department decided to retaliate because two hours later I received an email from the "Accommodation Supervisor" falsely accusing me of having smoked in the room and telling me that they were levying a £150 charge for "damages to us for breaking our no smoking in the room policy"!!!!
This is something I emphatically did not do. When I called to object the same manager was argumentative, dismissive, disrespectful, and downright rude, eventually hanging up the phone on me and refusing to take the call when I called back. I will be taking this up with their Corporate HQ Management Team.

One to avoid if quality is expected.

Its not too good for disabled people as very limited parking. Grounds are beautiful though.
Small very hot room as there is no Air Con. Supplied with a table top fan which just blows the hot ambient air around. Found heating on in Bathroom which was adding to the overall high temperature’s. Turned this off straight away. Shower was very good and bedding very clean also comfortable. Television very small and old. Furniture marked badly. Carpet dirty and marked. Small chair some kind of water mark too.
Went to breakfast after a broken nights sleep due to temperature. This was very busy as it was a Saturday and limited availably for tables as there was only one server. She was rushed off her feet and was very short with me when I gave room number. Gave up at that point and asked one of the Staff where the nearest Cafe was located. They recommended Tesco. This was very good quality, Coffee was great. This was table service and was very clean too. Normally wouldn't bother but room cost for two nights was around £330 with a reduction. The quality doesn’t match the price point. Wouldn't stay here again on Business or pleasure.
Also WIFI poor in my room otherwise I would have uploaded the photos but this continues to fail.
