A little gem of a hotel
What a lovely, clean and friendly hotel.
We had missed our ferry elsewhere and stayed for one night in an emergency. Couldn't have got a better place. The room was so clean, great bedding and well maintained. Dinner in the bar was spot on! so tasty, the haggis bites were delicious. Such a great atmosphere in the bar and the staff were super friendly.
Only thing was there was not a hand rail going right up the stairs to top bedroom and the shared bathrooms. Apart from that it was fab.

Great stop over, Great value GOOD FOR TROON FERRY
Easy check in and found parking right out side the door (this is public parking there is either space or not) The accommodation is next to the pub with its own keypad entrance, Great staff supper friendly and helpful
My room was very clean and tidy and had all the usual tea and coffee etc .....
Its a shared bathroom with bath and separate shower room but both where very clean with plenty of hot water and gels etc......
Great WiFi and Tv channel selection
Its very close to the shops at the end of the road you have a big Asda, Taco Bell,McDonald's, KFC etc etc
Value for money is amazing as every thing at Troon was £150-£200 due to the ferry to Arron this is just dead on 6 mile from the port and took exactly 20 mins to drive So at £45 for my room total bargain
The only thing I found a pain is there is no tap in the room and my room was the furthest from the bath room down a corridor ....So you have to trudge down the corridor to fill the kettle every time or get a cold drink of water ......So a jug in the room would be great to fill with cold water so you can re fill the kettle or make up a cold drink...squash etc
Just be aware Friday night there is LIVE Music night and its loud till 12.30 am now normally this would be great and Id be down there with a beer having fun but I had to be up at 4am to drive to Troon to catch the 5.30 (check in) ferry to Arron........I want to say Completely my own fault it does say on the booking page about the music and of course I hand t read it..........At least the music was good lol and I did make the ferry.....

Quaint and clean!
I was staying here as I was writing exams nearby in Ayr and needed somewhere to sleep and study for a few days. Harbour lights was great: The right price for my purposes, clean, well tended - my room was made up every day and new provision like tea and coffee supplied - the staff gave me extra tea/coffee/milk as I was in all day studying. The shared bathrooms were clean and well stocked with soap/shampoo/conditioner etc. Nice walks along the quayside nearby and plenty of options for restaurants, the harbour lights restaurant attached below to the guest house is very good. There is an ASDA/MS Food/KFC/Greggs/McD's a short walk away too if you need any fast food or stuff from a supermarket and a TESCO express a little further on. Parking is free on the road and I had no issues. One warning though, on the Thursday night I was there, there was a live band playing in the pub below, this COULD be a tad noisy for some. I had my soft earplugs in which I carry everywhere so was not really bothered,, but might be something you want to check with the hosts if this could be a problem for you. All in all, would stay again!

Horrible place to stay
I was booked for 3 night's, However only stayed 1. Not suitable for Elderly as no bathroom nearby. Had to go down 2 flight's of stairs during the night to pee. Won't ever go back. No ensuite or bathroom. Requires updating and into the 21st century. Be Warned. !!!!.
