Great experience
Gone for hiking and we booked for 2 days. Great service and support. The room was spotless and we had good rest after hiking.

An expensive night to remember
Paid full price of £96 for the night. On arrival we were informed the dining area was undergoing maintenance and was closed. No breakfast other than a sad selection of not very much. On top of this the car park was also closed and we were advised to park elsewhere for another expense to ourselves. Absolutely disgusted with the stay.

Great stay
Despite the building works the hotel is in a great location and very comfortable. Nice touch with a free breakfast as a gesture of thanks due to the building work disruption.

A warm welcome on a rainy day
We stayed one night in a Premier Plus room as part of a multi-centre weekend in the Lakes to celebrate my husband's birthday. We parked at the Library car park which is free from 6pm to 8am and only a few minutes walk away - the hotel's carpark is currently unavailable and this was made clear when we booked (as well as in multiple pre-arrival emails that followed - I'm really not sure how other reviewers missed this). Check in was smooth and efficient. I made a joke about summer in the Lakes and how it always rains on my husband's birthday. The reception team clocked this and even brought out a few goodies for us to celebrate. This was a very unexpected touch and set our stay off to a great start, so thank you. We'd not stayed in a new Premier Plus room before which is why I thought we'd try it. It definitely felt like an upgrade with a great walk in shower cubicle instead of the usual shower-over-bath and some treats including complimentary water chilling in the fridge, coffee pods and even some chocolates. The only slight downside was a smell of drains when we entered the room, but we opened the window for a bit and when we later ran the shower, this fixed it, so next time I would try that first. Otherwise, this was a great stay at an even greater price given the season and location. Another perk? As the restaurant is currently closed, they offer a free grab and go breakfast with coffee, juice, fruit, cereal and pre-packed pastries. We were off out for parkrun and brunch over in Ambleside, but grabbed a couple of pain au chocolat anyway and had them later on. Final top tip - we had dinner at Pedros Casa just across the way, which was fab and very well priced, with lots of vegetarian options. You can book online as it was pretty busy (in a good way) on a Friday night.

No sleep due to noise
Avoid room 121 and any rooms close to it at all costs. Located next to lift and above reception so didn’t get a minutes sleep.
