Monday nights are quiet.....

Firstly the room was excellent, and the cooked breakfast was superb. I remember Kirkby Lonsdale as being a busy, thriving town, I know it was a Monday, but lots of cafes and restaurants were closed, perhaps this could have been advised at the time of booking. Last orders at the Sun Inn restaurant were 7.45pm, which seemed too early for a large Inn when you've paid a decent price for a room, and the bar was closed off to residents before 10pm, which wasn't advised at check in, I always thought the bar in hotel / Inn remained open to residents until they wished to retire to bed, so that was disappointing. I enjoyed the stay, but it was a different experience to the one I imagined residing in a cosy room over a public house.

The Sun Inn - and the sun was out!

Had a great couple of nights at the Sun Inn. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and the food and drinks were excellent. We stayed in room 12 at the back of the building, which is well equipped, quiet, and has lovely views over the church and the hills beyond. Don't let the lack of a car park put you off - there is space to load/unload luggage and the permit system for parking in the public car parks works well.
The town itself is great; small, old and full of independant traders. There are walks direct from the Sun out into the countryside and along the river.
We stopped at the Sun as a break in a longer journey, and enjoyed it so much that we will do the same again next time we are in that part of the country.

Always a fantastic experience.

This was our fifth stay at the Sun Inn, and as usual it didn’t disappoint. Although located centrally it is still quiet. The staff are amazing and nothing is too much trouble. The menu is varied and the food is excellent, obviously prepared using high quality ingredients. Our room was clean and beautifully decorated, with a wonderful en-suite bathroom which included high-end toiletries. A big thank you to Sam who always makes us feel so welcome. We’ve already booked our next visit!

A great experience

We stayed one night at the Sun Inn. The room was very quiet, the beds comfy and the bathroom had lovely toiletries. Breakfast was delicious, especially the crunchy toast!
Thoroughly recommend.

Sam were right mint

Our trip was fantastic! Sam was amazing and provided us with all the best hotspots! She provided great banter and service throughout the day and made our stay amazing! Absolutely made our stay! Plus, she love a free brew!
