Fine food in familial surroundings

We chanced on this charming inn in the heart of Carmarthenshire. And I'm so glad we did. The decor is fitting and tasteful; the service was welcoming and attentive; the menu included Welsh specialities - it was all delicious. Kudos to the owners who have made a mighty fine haven.

A perfect, memorable New Year stay

We are just back from a wonderful three-night stay over New Year. We were made so welcome by Jon and Fiona, whose total renovation of the property has been done superbly. We stayed in Room 4 which was really comfortable, warm and quiet. As well as excellent cooked breakfasts, we ate dinner on two nights. Both were truly delicious, and we were delighted to meet Lewis, the talented head Chef, and his team. Llangadog, with its own train station, is well located for exhilarating walking, particularly the Heart of Wales Trail. We loved everything, and are already looking forward to our next visit!

A perfect stay pre Christmas night away

We stayed a night before Christmas as we were visiting family in Llangadog. This place has been renovated beautifully. The rooms are stunning with the most stylish and high quality finish. We were lucky enough to see some of the other rooms and they didn’t disappoint. The bathrooms are beautiful and each room has its own character and colour theme.
We had such a warm and personalised welcome by the owners and the warm and cosy fire places in each of the bar and restaurant areas made it such an idyllic winter stay, perfect for those wishing to explore the beautiful landscapes of Carmarthenshire.
Thank you, we will stay again soon.

Brilliant Sunday Lunch

We dropped in without booking for Sunday lunch, having visited on other occasions for lunch during the week. The welcome was great (as always) and the atmosphere was convivial. The food was amazing - lovely range of perfectly cooked vegetables and perfectly cooked pink beef! Only wish we lived nearer to make this a regular venue

Stylish country pub/hotel

We only had a brief stay at Y Castell but would happily stay there again. It's been beautifully renovated. The room was very comfortable, and the bathroom was huge with a rolltop bath and massive shower (room 6). The owner Fiona was very friendly and welcoming. It was busy downstairs and quite noisy when we arrived late on Saturday night, but that's to be expected for a pub and the noise ended at a reasonable hour. We're looking at booking our wedding at a venue nearby and would be happy to recommend Y Castell to our guests.
