Everything was good for a fair price compared to other places in the area. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to spend some time in the area.

arrived early and found it closed and saying not open until 2pm , but someone did come down , we were a bit surprised when we turned into the car park and saw the building , what we didn't realize was it was an old pub and had been split, the bottom 2rds was and Indian restaurant the other lower third was a convenience store and the top part was the hotel with 7 rooms , we went back after 2 clock and had to check in via the restaurant , they were very welcoming and promptly showed us to our room , the room was nice on entry the bathroom was very large and clean and facilities all good , we had plenty of storage , kettle tea coffee etc , there was a lack of power sockets but otherwise acceptable , but to our surprise it had the old fashioned inner sliding glass panel shutters , when we looked closely we could see 2 x hinges with the 3 screws in each but it had o opening window it had obviously rotted and fell of and not been replaced , we did have a meal in the restaurant and it was superb , could not fault the meal or service in that part , we did ask the question and it was the same owner that owned the whole building hotel restaurant and londis shop it done the job and was local to the retail parks and royal mint we went to visit so all good in the end

Very basic room with old,used up, cheap furniture. Bathroom was dark, water pump took ages to fill up clearly faulty water tank for the toilet. Shower in very bad condition, black mold visible everywhere. Low water pressure in the shower made showering a challenge. Owner knew I'm coming in advance and heating got only turned on after I arrived, so first night was quite cold. Restaurant below serves only Indian food, no other options. After night in my room I decided that I won’t risk it with eating there so can't say anything about food.
In a nutshel I was expecting a lot more for 75£ a night. Maybe i'm too demanding but working toilet and normal shower would be great.

No reception on a Monday night so you have to drop in the local Londis shop next door or call mobile on message left on the door.
This was just before 7pm so not late.
Guy from shop was friendly but no food on at hotel either on a Monday.

Suspect room's been refurbished fairly recently so OK but shower pressure poor.
Couldn't get tv to work.
Breakfast cereal supplied, but no milk. However, free from shop next door 🙂
Hooks for coats and a shelf in the bathroom would be a bonus.
No warning online that the access staircase is steep.
