Absolutely Disgusting. Do Yourself a Favor and Stay Somewhere Else
If you have the option to stay somewhere else, DO IT.
The staff at the front desk were actually very nice and kind, and they were clearly aware that the rooms were not up to standard. Unfortunately, being nice doesn't make up for the condition of the property.
We checked in… and checked right back out.
Our room was absolutely filthy. The sink had a major crack and we were told we couldn't use it. The toilet wouldn't flush, and the shower was completely clogged. Basically, none of the plumbing in the room was functioning properly. And calling it a bathroom is being generous — it was essentially a tiny closet where you had to squeeze yourself in just to use the facilities.
The sheets were dirty, and there were creepy crawlers in the room. The entire place was disgusting. I have honestly never walked into a place this filthy in my entire life.
Even the carpet in the entrance was absolutely disgusting. There was also obvious water damage on the ceiling at the front desk, and the entire property looked like it had been neglected for years with very little, if any, maintenance or investment.
What made it even worse was that the staff seemed fully aware of the condition of the rooms. We were essentially told that if we checked out, they would simply rent the room to someone else — and that's exactly what happened.
We booked through Expedia, and getting our money back was a fight. Thankfully, after dealing with Expedia, we were eventually reimbursed. We then found another hotel about a 10-minute walk away, and the difference was night and day.
I am giving this one star only because I have to in order to leave a review. If I could give zero stars, I would.
If you don't mind dirty sheets, broken plumbing, clogged showers, water damage and creepy crawlers, then by all means, stay here.
But personally, I wouldn't let my worst enemy stay here. Spend a little more and stay somewhere else. Your sanity — and your hygiene — will thank you.

A moldy and uncomfortable stay
We were in the basement. The good news is we had our own bathroom down the hallway. The room is maybe 12x12. Our double mattress was decent. The bunk bed mattresses weren’t great. There a really strong smell of mold in the bathrooms and mold spots on the walls that we asked to get cleaned with bleach, but we can’t see any of the mold being cleaned. The mold smell is strong in the hallway as well. We kept the bathroom light on so the small fan could work.
There are stairs right outside our window (that needs to stay open because of the heat and mild smell). In the mornings the repair workers come down 4 feet from where I am sleeping to get tools from the shed. The garbage bags are piled next to our window.
It took a while for garbage from our room to be removed. Fresh towels took a while but were available on request. More toilet paper was also on request and took awhile.
Many things could be better.

You get what you pay for
The location is excellent, just a short walk from Victoria Tube, train and coach stations. The beds were comfortable enough, and the bedding and towels were fresh and clean. The room was very small for a family of five, but it did have a fridge, microwave and kettle, which was useful. We also appreciated being able to store our luggage after check-out, and all the staff were friendly and helpful.
The bathroom was very small, and the shower could do with a thorough scrub as there was black mould present.
Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend staying here during the summer. There is no air conditioning, and despite being provided with fans, the room became unbearably hot. We stayed for five nights and struggled to sleep because of the heat. We also had an issue with ants, but to the hotel's credit, the staff dealt with it immediately and moved us to another room the following night. While we appreciated the quick response, the second room was even hotter.
Overall, the hotel met our expectations for the price, and the staff did their best to help when issues arose. However, I wouldn't stay again in warm weather unless cooling was improved. Even upgrading the fans or providing some form of air conditioning would make a significant difference.
