Great stay at Montrose

This was my 1st stay Montrose Guest House. I was very pleased from start to Finnish. The communication with the own was excellent. The room ( number 4) was spotless. Every thing I needed for an over night stay. Fridge, TV, Microwave, lettre with cups & glasses. Plus table and chair for any work.
The ensuite was also spotless with Soap & Shower gel. Also towels. Shower was new with good hot & cold both with good pressure.
The place has the added bonus of off street parking. Can recommend & will use again.

Great Little Guest House !

Just arrived back after a great weekend break in Romford. We were in the area for football in London plus meeting with new tenants at a property I own in the area.
We arrived to a very welcoming greeting from Prash the owner.Parking was great just outside.
Our room was lovely with a massive bed and a very clean bathroom. The shower was also really powerful.
The Guest house is a great position, 10/15 minute walk to Romford Station. 7/8 minute walk to Romford market plus good pubs.
We had room only but Prash recommended North Street cafe which we already knew about. Fantastic breakfast and great staff.
We will definitely stop here again due to location and cleanliness.

Would like to have stayed, but the threat of getting locked out put me off

I think it's a little unfair to review something you haven't tried, so rather than a review of the B&B, this is a review of the rules that led me to decide not to stay.
The inquiry I made was to stay for 1 night with single occupancy and highlighted that, as I had a long distance to travel, I may arrive "late evening".
The reply was that arrivals must be in by 8pm and anything beyond would incur a £5 per hour surcharge, until 11pm, at which point the doors are shut. The price quoted, at £75 to include breakfast could therefore rise to £90 if I was late, unless I arrived at 11pm, at which point I would have paid, but been locked out.
I'm fully aware that B&B's are not 24 hours and that consideration has to be given to all guests, but I don't think I've ever been so "put off" by a reply.
I'm also surprised that an advertised price of "from £50 to include breakfast" can easily end up being £90 if you turn up late and want breakfast the following morning.
However, by the looks of the other reviews, if you do stick to the arrival time, then you will be well looked after and leave a happy customer.

Cracking little place

I stayed here when I had to spend a night in the area for business. I booked over the phone and received very friendly and professional service. On arrival the welcome was friendly and helpful, with directions being given to the places I needed to go and even a text message with a postcode so I could pop it in the satnav! The room was clean, warm, comfortable and very clean. The breakfast well cooked and very tasty. So glad I stayed here rather than one of the big name chains.

Don't judge a book by its cover. Lovely surprise.

Visiting family for Halloween party so only stayed 1 night on a Saturday
Very dubious when we arrived to see an extended house in a cul-de-sac, and was worried about parking as had an estate car and was too long to fit on the advertised Free Parking onsite
Fortunately the owner suggested we park on the side road and we only had to pay £1 as it was a weekend and parking restrictions were different to weekday.
The owner was friendly, helpful, professional and gave us a choice of times we could have our breakfast( which we booked when we arrived) . It was £6 each and I found this very delicious and good value, the only negative comment I will make on the whole stay is I cant remember being offered any alternative to a full English breakfast,
We had an beautiful en suite room upstairs (lovely comfy bed) complimentary tea/coffee, sky tv and free WiFi which was a lot better than expected, I loved the quality of the furniture and furnishings which continued throughout the areas we passed.
