Lovely hotel in an excellent location

My child and I stayed at the Ampersand Hotel in August and had the most wonderful stay. We requested the deluxe studio room with the bathtub by the window and enjoyed baths each evening. The child sized robe was a huge hit and the staff were lovely. The room was spacious and beautifully decorated. We weren't aware until check in regarding the free drinks and snacks which was a delightful surprise, and made life so much easier with a child. We enjoyed room service after a long day's outing and the location cannot be beat. South Kensington underground is across the street and many bus lines are also available. Despite facing the main road, we did not hear any noise at night. It is an incredibly safe location with shops, restaurants, and grocery stores within walking distance. Hyde Park is one of our favorite places to go when we were are in town and we loved how close it was. I think this is it. We never want to stay anywhere else!

I loved my stay here. It was beautiful, the team was so kind and helpful- definitely will come back when I am in London, such close vicinity to the train, so it was also really convenient when it came to visiting all the different areas I planned to see.

Fabulous stay last night, the room was petite but perfect. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful. The hotel is perfectly positioned to walk to everywhere we wanted to do. Looking forward to returning soon. Thank you

Hotel ideally located for museums, parks and close to tube station, does not having parking facilities.

Welcoming, elegant, ticks every box!

First off, this hotel has an amazing location, closeby to so many interesting museums, galleries, shops, restaurants and even has a taxi rank right outside!
We first stayed 8 years ago on my 50th birthday and we were impressed that the elegance has remained but with friendliness and no stuffiness. Every member of staff was helpful and enthusiastic and seemed proud to be working there.
It is so clean, the room was comfortable and the bathroom and shower excellent. We enjoyed the good list of non alcoholic cocktails and the breakfast choice was excellent. We had a very quiet room and slept soundly.
We are so happy that the hotel has turned 14 years under independent ownership and long may it continue. Would highly recommend both for couples, families and anyone wanting to explore Kensington.
