Another great stay at The Wheatsheaf Inn

My second stay at the Wheatsheaf Inn.
Great setting lovely rooms . Julie is excellent as are all the staff. I didn’t have a meal this visit , we were part of a wedding party but the food is great. Breakfast was lovely.lots of choice.

Suite?

I stayed in a "suite" room at quite a cost, only to find the room actually quite boxy and small. Not a room I would call a suite.

Please email us on wheatsheafinn@youngs.co.uk as I have been trying to find where we explain our rooms as 'suites' but unable to find it as we would like to change that as we don't have any on site. Our most premium rooms are bigger boutique rooms but not suites.

Pros: food (evening meal and breakfast) was great and highlight of stay and restaurant team were excellent. Room decoration was gorgeous. Bed was inviting and the room had all the amenities needed including a fan for warm weather. Great garden set up and enough parking.
Cons: rude bar staff. Ignored at the bar towards the end of the evening despite 3 bar staff behind the counter and then had eye roll when we ordered a final drink. Within ten minutes we were told to “drink faster and get out”.
Hotel room smelt damp/musty, shower was a hand held over the bath, bed base was much bigger than the mattress so stuck out by almost a foot on one side, and the bed kept sliding across the room when you sat on it. Some elements of the room were tired - bath taps and broken blinds.

Charming Inn offering comfort, good food and hospitality

We stayed 3 nights at Wheatsheaf Inn and could not have been happier. It is an old inn with all the charms that accompany such a stay. The room was comfortable quiet and exactly what we needed after exploring the Cotswolds.
The pub and restaurant were excellent. We ate every dinner there and never were disappointed.
The staff helped make the stay memorable. They always were available for directions recommendations or just a lovely chat about the town and property.
Northleach is small and really doesn't have much to offer but we wanted that. The locals were friendly and there are walking paths to enjoy. I would definitely stay here again

Consistently very good

As one of favourite restaurants, this was not our first visit. The standards are consistently maintained in all aspects. The food is excellent and well presented and the staff well trained and efficient. This is all clearly rewarded by being busy. And the bill never comes as a shock. Whilst not the cheapest, this venue scores consistently well in the value for money stakes. Well done to all involved - we consistently think you are a top 5 performer and a star venue rising well above the mediocrity that has just started to creep in some other similar style places in the area.
