Wonderful stay

We celebrated our wedding anniversary here, it was absolutely fantastic, the staff were very attentive, warm and friendly, the Pullman carriage was out of this world, really beautiful and comfortable. We had dinner on the vintage carriage, again it was fantastic, the food was great, staff could not have been more helpful.

The restaurant is situated in a lovingly restored Pullman carriage - pity about the food

Situated in a former railway station, this railway themed hotel has more recently added a restaurant, situated in a lovingly restored Pulman carriage. Seating is in plush, comforable chairs, mostly in tables for two. Eating in such an iconic setting, surrounded with all that polished wood, created a delightful atmosphere. Service was first rate, with hardly any delay between courses. Unfortunately, the food was a disappointment. At this price one does not expect fine dining, but the overcooked meat and dry, bony fish fillets were simply not good enough.

True hidden gem

Visited for my recent birthday & absolutely loved it!
Everything about this place is gorgeous, it's tucked away in a beautiful setting the whole set up is so nicely done.
We booked afternoon tea as well as a one night stay, we were treated to a lovely afternoon tea outside on the platform with a great selection of sandwiches cakes & scones all washed down with plenty of tea & coffee.
We were shown to our Pullman carriage which is surprisingly spacious with a very comfortable double bed and a nice
spacious bathroom with all nice amenities.
There's a nice pub called The Badgers about 150 yards away which is nice & there's a really nice short walk from the station to the Beam Pump with a lovely small pond and few benches to sit & lap up the beautiful surroundings.
The station also offers a dining carriage with a seasonal menu on offer which is available in the evenings.
The staff are all very friendly & I would recommend this place to anyone as it really is just a beautiful setting and also set in beautiful countryside so it's nice hideaway to just relax & enjoy the peace and quiet & enjoy the uniqueness of this lovely bed & breakfast.
The following morning we ate our breakfast alfresco again as it was beautiful & sunny the breakfast was delicious & the selection on offer was very nice.
Thank you to all the staff for making our stay a pleasurable one.
The only tiny negative was the WiFi signal strength which doesn’t go any further than the platform really but that’s me being picky.

Amazing place! Excellent staff. Just be mindful the WiFi is a bit patchy so wouldn’t be suitable for working from there.

The whole experience was excellent.
Very good staff and breakfast on the platform in glorious weather was truly wonderful.
Evening Dinner on the Pullman Diner was of a very high standard.
