Hidden gem- thoroughly recommend
I stayed here with my mother whilst visiting a relative in hospital. We received such a warm welcome to this beautiful, traditional Manor House. The room was large and immaculate with wonderful attention to detail, chocolates on pillow, embossing on toilet roll, sweet toiletries etc. wonderful soft towels and lovely bathroom. Would thoroughly recommend wholeheartedly

Not great.
Mixed feelings about this place.
Firstly if you're going to book ring the hotel. Don't book through another agent.
We were happy with our room . I did not do my research properly my daughter and i really fancied a cooked breakfast. We discovered on the morning it was continental. But it was a poor choice very little to choose from and very little of it. They don't want waste obviously my fruit was6 pieces of strawberry as that was all there was. Cold croissants,
I thought that was poor for £ 198 for one night..

The room was clean and well appointed. Air conditioning would have been a plus, but overall a pleasant stay at a very nice hotel. Thank you.

Do not stay here in the hot weather.
Our room was spacious and spotless.However, we stayed on the hottest day of the year thus far, and there was no fan in the room, let alone air conditioning.The room was effectively like a sauna as we could only partially open a side window and a small upper window.We did request a fan but was told they were all in use, they couldn't buy anymore and they weren't expecting a heat wave?The room was so unbearably hot we had to take a walk at 10 pm as we couldn't cope with the heat in the room.
The present owners have owned the property for 12 years and I'm sure they must have had hot days since they've owned the hotel.
On arrival we were told we should have booked direct with them and not used Expedia,we didn't book through Expedia.However, I did ring the hotel the day before we were due to arrive to see if we could stay another night.Thankfully our room was already booked but I was offered the most expensive room in the hotel at the same price as detailed on the 3rd party sites.

Chef's just open the tin....
Good location, approx 10 mins from the beach.
However, the bedrooms aren't supplied with aircon or even fans, so during the recent 36 degree hot weather, my west facing bedroom was actually hotter than outside. I guessed it was about 45 degrees and liable to cause heatstroke. Altho an old fan was later 'found' by the owner, it made little difference as the hot window glass and walls acted like a radiators. I heard other guests asking the owner for fans too and being given excuses about their lack of availability.
Unfortunately, there's an obsession with penny pinching, with questions when you arrive, on how the hotel was booked (were agency fees involved). There are notes left around about parking penalties, extra teabags costs, bathroom cleaning etc....
And presumably the lack of supplied fans (or portable aircon units) is to keep the electricity bill down.
I've stayed here before, when the hotel used to do cooked breakfasts. They didn't during my stay. They're now offering 'continental' breakfasts, with meagre and embarrassing offerings, which include canned fruit (re - Fawlty Towers - 'Chef's just opened the tin')...
I paid £340 for two nights in a solo bed room, I won't be coming here anymore....
